  Difficult to find, one way, small lanescdifficult but comfortable hotel with pleasant staff.

  Great aggravation getting into the hotel car park. Check your emails before driving, but the approach will still be a problem and is generally the subject of much discussion over breakfast with other guests.Tip1: drive up to bollards within the approach system and speak to operative or phone hotel for instructions. You will need to cross the pedestrianised Cours Mirabeau. Contrary to instructions, the parking is on the Rue Nazareth, to the right, directly behind the hotel, with access for luggage to the hotel itself.Thank you Camille. Reception staff good.Lift is quirky and difficult. Two person. Tiny. Double doors. Careful with outer glass door as you could do serious damage to your head. Tip: choose room on lower floor unless in love with rooftop views. We somehow got an upgrade. ??4 star. Room was clean, modern and comfortable with aircon. Good sleep, bed comfortable, cotton sheets, good pillows. Bathroom stylish, separate loo, good shower, hot water, shower gel and good storage. I asked for more fresh towels and they arrived. I asked for milk it arrived. Stunning view of the Cours Mirabeau from our window. comfortable night.Tea and coffee making facilities, but earl grey again (sigh) and ceylon option very weak. No English Breakfast. Bring your own tea.Breakfast on the Cours Mirabeau pavement. The table was too tiny for all the brekkie food. Menu complicated but hot food option was available. Tip. Three options, but bacon, egg and mushroom count as one of those 3 options. The apple compote is unnecessarily huge. I ordered mushroom bacon omelette trio but the bacon was ham and the mushrooms never arrived.?????On the whole a good stay, by my husband opined we should not have expected such hassle paying the amount we did.On the upside, very central and walkable without using car once we arrived.. Being located directly on the Cours Mirabeau, in the heart of Aix-en-Provence’s historic and largely pedestrianised centre, access by car can indeed be somewhat unusual on a first visit. This is precisely why our team sends detailed access instructions prior to arrival and remains available by phone to guide our guests through the final approach when necessary. Once parked, as you mentioned, the advantage is being able to enjoy the city entirely on foot.We have also noted your comments regarding our lift. Its size and configuration are linked to the historic architecture of the building, and we appreciate that it may not offer the level of comfort expected from a more contemporary installation.Regarding breakfast, we are sorry that your order was not served exactly as requested. Our à la carte breakfast is intended to offer a generous selection of both hot and cold dishes, but your experience should of course have been more seamless.Our hotel will soon close for a major renovation. This project is particularly important to us: its ambition is to preserve and enhance the identity, authenticity, soul and history of this emblematic building, while significantly improving its comfort, facilities and services.Thank you again for your constructive feedback and for highlighting the many aspects of your stay that you enjoyed.   We spent the last two weeks of June at Hotel Negrecoste. The location was exactly what we had hoped for: central and lively. Parking at the property, very convenient. The front desk staff was very friendly, and helpful, for example a couple of  times, Thais went out of her way to help us navigate the narrow streets of Aix. The same can be said about the restaurant staff. The room was spacious with a well appointed bathroom, but it felt a bit like a 'has been hotel". We soon learned that they were closing this fall to bring back the hotel to its glory. Hope we go back to Aix when the renovation is done. Annabelle, the manager, cared a lot about the property, showed great pride in the building, and with the support of Biography, it will feel like the Grande Dame it once was. We highly recommend a stay there, even before the renovation it will be a very comfortable experience.   What a wonderful experience!

  We stayed 5 days in this wonderful hotel. The staff was phenomenal! They were so welcoming and so helpful. They helped us with recommendations advice and laundry. We had breakfast included in our stay and it was wonderful everyday. The room was great! The bathroom was perfect! This hotel is on main walking street in the city, close to everything in the old part of the city. Everything is walkable and enjoyable.
