A Gem

This is a stunning property. It’s actually less than ten years old, but they have managed to create the feel of a very old building but with all modern amenities. It’s gorgeous. The pool is the nicest I’ve ever had at a hotel - a real swimmers pool. The restaurant is excellent too.I simply cannot understand the one star reviews. They are grossly unfair.

DO NOT GO

Very disappointing experience, especially for a hotel of this caliber. We had an awful €280 couples massage, and I left mine halfway through after the therapist acknowledged she could not provide the pressure I had repeatedly requested. I was offered another massage the following day, which I declined, assuming the hotel would instead make some adjustment to the original charge. What was most disappointing was management’s response. Alexandra, the manager, was unwilling to make any meaningful accommodation or gesture of goodwill, even when I suggested something as simple as a complimentary breakfast. She eventually offered complimentary valet parking, but even that charge was not removed from our bill.I subsequently raised the issue with Marine, Alexandra’s manager, hoping she would rectify the situation. Unfortunately, she simply defended the original decision and made no meaningful effort to resolve the complaint.Mistakes and bad experiences happen. What matters is how a luxury hotel responds, and unfortunately, both levels of management showed very little interest in making things right. We visit Aix twice a year and will stay elsewhere going forward.

A dreamy hotel experience in Aix-en-Provence

I had reservations about Villa Saint Anne living up to expectations because of the pricey rates. From the moment we arrived, we knew we made the right choice and will get what we pay for, and then some. The bell and front desk staff are all genuinely friendly, pleasant, and helpful. The highlights of our experience at VSA:- We were upgraded from a deluxe junior suite to a full suite villa, #36- We were checked in early without fuss - Complimentary VSA throw blankets, tote bag, hats - yellow and white/cream, well made- The pool and lounge area is beautiful and serene, allowing for complete relaxation in the heart of Aix. The multiple pool sunbeds are awesome for partially submerged sunning.- The breakfast spread of fresh fruits, eggs, pastries, cereals, breads, fresh fruits, was good. Eggs and bacon made to order. Dark roast American coffee is good served in commodious cups by attentive staff.- The grounds and gardens are lovely, a verdant oasis.Ama Terra serves okay food but the dining room and outdoor patio dining areas are beautiful. The anmbiance annd decor make up for the so-so pricey dishes.

We stopped here for lunch on our way to Mane and we were stunned with how gorgeous this place is. Our lunch in the jaw dropping dining room was outstanding. We regret we did not stay here but we hope to return.
