  Clean and Quiet. Helpful Staff

  We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were a family of three that first had a regular room with a large bed and two small rooms, then moved to a larger "suite" which is a bigger room with more space to move around and a large bed and sofa bed. This was perfect for us. It was at the end of the hotel near the train station on the 4th floor, and although we could sometimes hear a low rumble of trains, it was not bothersome at all (comparable to very distant thunder, easily ignored). We could not hear the guests on each side of us at all.The rooms were both immaculately clean and the beds were very comfortable (including the pull-out sofa bed).Every staff member we encountered was polite and helpful with questions we asked and requests we made.Location is great: outside of the tourist area in the old town, but close enough to easily walk there, or to the lake.

  Disappointing return visit to the hotel

  Stayed here on a short stop on the way to the Alps, 3rd visit to the hotel but this time was a bit disappointing. The room had a really strong smell of paint (we were informed it has been repainted a few weeks prior), were given some air freshener to try and mask the smell and we left the window open but it still wasn't great. Both the hand soap and shower dispensers were empty which isn't what you expect from a Novotel.

  Very disappointed

  I .We stayed for 2 nights.  However we were dissapointed with the condition of our room.  Please see photos attached.Our bed was made up of 2 singles, which ordinarily would be fine, however the mattresses were not connected (zip), and created a gap in the middle, which was very uncomfortable.  Also the mattress protector was ripped (see photo), and the bed was fitted with a flat sheet, instead of a fitted sheet, so this created even more discomfort when the sheet came off all the time.More disturbingly, the mattresses were badly stained.  (See photos)  This being visible due to the ill fitting sheets etc,.The bathroom door was badly damaged (see photo).This is not the first time we have stayed in a Novotel.  And we usually find that the hotels are spotless.  However this has made us re think about booking again with Novotel.

  Great stay!

  Had a Mountain View room which was extremely spacious for the three of us. My five year old slept on the sofa bed in another room. The main room was huge! Nice views of the mountains and town but it is above the train station so that ruins the view a little! Everything was clean and the hotel overall was smart. Good customer service throughout the stay. Perfect spot from the train station and only a five minute walk to the old town.

  We had an unpleasant experience at another hotel and needed a last minute change late at night. Marylene was so helpful and got us all setup in two rooms next to each other.
