  Nice Hotel but Poor Service and Lack of Staff

  First impressions were not good. A five hour wait to check in. No offer of holding bags while I went off and explored the area. The rooms were released dead on 4pm. Although I was told, I would be called when rooms became available. Rooms were being allocated to those who walked through the door, despite sitting in full view of the reception. The spa is great. The hotel food not so great. The service in the evening is hit and miss. Poor attention to detail. The first night, the fries arrived after I had eaten the main course and the second night the chicken came within 2 mins of ordering and was not cooked property. You have to go in side and queue to pay. In th morning, n o waiting staff in the restaurant to be found. A poorly stocked breakfast area.I put a note in the morning for the room to be cleaned. At four pm the room had still not been cleaned. I gave up.

  Best hotel room I have stayed in, the design was on point. The lighting electric shutters was a delight the materials used was excellent. I have stayed in opulence in Waldorf Astoria,Four Seasons Canary Wharf, Excelsior Azerbaijan and others, but Rivage had got it right without the opulence. Staff were friendly but need to be offering trips. The bar area not very cosy as the air con was too high and they need to offer interesting snacks and nibbles to have with coffee and drinks. The frontage of the hotel needs a spruce up. Overall staff friendly and professional, will definitely return.

  We had a fabulous stay at the Rivage Hotel & Spa, Annecy. Lovely clean and spacious rooms complete with coffee machines that also provide hot water for tea. Breakfast choice was excellent and the staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The hotel spa is spotless with a heated pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and a small sunbathing area. A dressing gown and spa slippers are provided in the room. The hotel is across the road from the lake beach and about a 20 minute pleasant walk along the lake into Annecy town. Alternatively there are a couple of buses that run nearby. There are also a number of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance from the hotel.

  Price of a 4 star but quality of a 3 star

  The air conditioning unit is set to its lowest at 19 degrees which is not cold enough in this warm weather. Poor that it could not be lowered anymore as it made sleeping in the heat quite unbearable. Went to the pool but too many couples kissing in the public areas making it feel inappropriate at times and I am not a prude. A reminder to guests about being considerate to other guests or go to your room!! First day there was a public hair in the bathroom sink. Missing one pair of flip flops in room. Refreshments were not automatically refilled. Food overpriced for quality. Breakfast was minimal and juices were not even freshly squeezed. Overall a disappointing stay for a 4 star hotel.
