  Great location & lovely staff

  Great hotel - nothing too much trouble for the staff in all areas; pool, restaurant, Spa who were all very friendly. Shout out to Ethan in the restaurant who served us dinner on the first evening- very entertaining individual. Great location. Arles is well worth a visit and this is really well situated for all the main sites. Not cheap but you get what you pay for.

  This hotel sits in the centre of Arles and positioned us nicely for walks into the city for our 3 days break. On arrival we had a disappointing start as we had arrived on a Saturday. An email explained that we should leave our car in the local car park as the hotel would be inaccessible while a market was on . We just needed to give the keys to reception and they would sort out our stuff . But on arrival reception initially felt we had done something wrong and should not had parked in the car park ! We would have to leave our car and forgo the valet parking . It all got sorted once we showed them the email but it was a stressful start and not what we wanted in the hear ! BUT ! My husband then managed to leave his phone and wallet in a nearby restaurant . Much to our horror. Yes the day wasn’t going well for us . The same team in reception suddenly became so helpful and lovely . Whilst my husband rushed back to the restaurant , reception were trying to call his number in the hope that someone picked up and they showed genuine concern.Our room was lovely , large , quirky and clean . The corridors and bar area have a relaxed feel to them . The bar staff are maybe not on it as much as you wouldLike and you have to seek them out . For us the hotel was ok but the pool area and outdoor area isn’t particularly comfortable. It’s an ok hotel but can’t give it a very good rating

  Great location, rooms could do with an update but still lovely.

  Great location in Arles, right beside the Saturday market (drivers beware that on street parking for cars is suspended for this). Hotel is showing signs of needing upgrading in places. Our standard room; why spend your holiday sat in your bedroom, so why waste money on a decent one, was very basic for a 5* hotel and lacked some of the amenities you would expect. No hair conditioner, the shower was a hand held one in a bath, which when located onto the wall bracket meant you were bashing into the taps every time you turned or moved, tiny bedside tables for modern phones and limited charging etc. Staff were excellent, very clean and reasonable public areas indoors and excellent outdoor spaces. I would say that there is a distinct shortage of sun loungers to guest ratio if the hotel is busy around the pool, but we never had a problem getting one ourselves, but did witness others having an issue. We didn't eat there, so cannot comment. We had an excellent stay there for 4 days, air-con worked well and would not hesitate to return, particularly if it had a refresh.

  We were in Arles for 1 night prior to meeting a river cruise. The hotel was very well situated in the main street of Arles and within walking distance to the river and Roman Ruins. There was a very good shopping street close. The hotel itself was fairly old but it had a very lovely charm and a big restaurant attached. The staff were very friendly and spoke good English. The rooms were clean and were quiet away from any traffic and music. Next door to the Tourist Centre for lots of helpful info and plenty of restaurants across and down the road. There was a lovely park about 5 minutes walk away.

  Unmet aspirations, unfriendly service, and questionable pricing practices.

  The Jules César Arles Hotel & Spa aspires to be a nice establishment, but it completely fails in this.We originally made a reservation for a Junior Suite, but had to switch to a Deluxe Room due to the very high tub walls that made it near to impossible for me to get into and out of the shower. They assured me at the time that they would adjust the price at checkout. Well, yes, they did adjust the price, but not to any great extent. Our original quote for the three nights stay was 1077 Euros, or an average price of 359 Euros per night. Their posted rooms price, which I took a photo of, for the Deluxe Room were 169 to 489 Euros per night. The Junior Suite prices were from 229 to 559 Euros per night. By the most basic of math the difference per night between the two is a minimum of 60 Euros per night, which would yield a cost reduction of 180 Euros. At checkout we were presented with a bill with a reduction of 98 Euros. When questioned, the clerk at reception fell back upon the classic “that’s what my manager said”. We were waiting for a taxi to go to the train station to head to CDG for our flight the next day and were, like so many other people in the same situation, eager to get on our way. The manager was not around and we did not have time to wait around, which no doubt was the plan.As to the hotel itself: One side of the bed had no electrical outlet usable by guests, which means no ability to have one’s phone charged. And the “nightstands” on each side of the bed were miniscule shelves with barely enough room for a phone, much less anything else. Totally impractical for modern life. Just a designer’s affectation, nothing more.The towels were too small and of mediocre quality. And for the first time ever in any hotel we’ve stayed in there was only shampoo and body wash in the shower, but no conditioner! Even a Best Western in the States has conditioner. This is a small thing, but indicative of very poor planning.The almost open shower design allowed water to practically cover ½ of the bathroom floor, but the water pressure, supply and delivery in the shower were excellent.Our room was of a decent size but had two very small chairs one of which was near to useless and so small that anyone of even average height would have trouble getting in and out of, and the other was a wicker chair with a very straight back and very uncomfortable. Again, a designer’s affectation without consideration of usage.The HVAC system is designed so that it blows directly onto the bed. Likely nothing that can be done about this, but it was very uncomfortable.The room cleaners did an excellent job. Timely, efficient, and unobtrusive. The rest of the staff seemed annoyed that anyone was there. Totally different than everywhere else we have stayed in France for two weeks in September 2025 and for 10 days this trip (April 2026).All in all, not a great experience and mediocre value for money.
