With a group of friends, we came to stay here for 1 night (on the way to Paris). The hotel looks nice from outside but unfortunately we arrive in the evening of Sunday, there was no staff at the front desk and we had to check-in ourselves. To our surprise, all the rooms had no air-condtioner and some rooms had only small fan. it is during the middle of summer and the temperature is quite high more than 30 C and most of us were not able to have a good sleep because of very warm weather even we all opened the window. The room itself was nice and clean, bed was quite comfy (but we did not get much sleep though). The batheroom and toilet was OK. In the morning we had decent breakfast and it tasted OK. Overall, although the hotel is nice and clean but the room should have been air-conditined. Not recommended to stay during summertime (or you can have a choice to stay at Hotel Ibis nearby).

Modern, compact, clean, convenient

A good choice for an overnight stay to discover this attractive, characterful, old town situated within a loop of the river Le Doubs. There is a choice of room sizes in this modern building to suit requirements - some for longer term residential rental. Ours was compact, but quite adequate, with a small kitchenette where we heated up an evening meal. The hotel offers breakfast but no other meals. Public parking close by is a challenge, so we used the hotel's secure underground car park for a charge of €15 per night. The bed was comfortable and with the windows shut the room was quiet, despite a tramway route outside. The staff were efficient and helpful, bringing down to us the remote control to exit the garage, which we had forgotten. The hotel is within walking distance of the town. We walked to the cathedral and on and up to the citadel at the far end, built by Vauban and with commanding views. The buildings in the old town impressed us with their style and architecture, all built with the same few shades of stone - very attractive. For a Sunday evening, the town was bustling. We enjoyed a drink on the square, overlooking the river, at tables all safely spaced.

Liked · Proximity to the City Centre, without having to drive through the cityDisliked · This was a very disappointing pick. The Hotel building is so ugly, as are all the buildings in the neighbourhood so your heart kind of sinks even before you get to the Reception. We had had more problems by then in any case. We had read the policies and knew that there was a charge for the basement parking of the Hotel and were ready to pay it, so we drove straight to the garage door and honked etc. to try and get it opened, to no avail. We then called reception from the car and explicitly stated that we were ready to pay the charges and the door maybe kindly opened, we were refused, we were told that we must come to the reception, pay and only then the electronic key for the garage would be given to us, we said okay, and asked where we should we park the car in the meanwhile, we were told that was for us to figure out. We had to park the car in a handicapped spot, which was the only one that was available till we did the needful at the reception and came back. The Receptionist was very RUDE, we asked for a unit on a higher floor, having paid for the more expensive option she responded in a very rude tone and manner. The walk to the Unit made us regret even further our choice, the corridor and our unit was filled with cigarette smoke and pungent Chinese food cooking odour neither of which dissipated over the night so we had to sleep with the window open and be disturbed by the traffic noise from the road, and it being a Saturday night by the drunken revellers, right upto daybreak. The Unit itself was okay, though had a disinfectant abundant hospital like feel to it.

better not to come with campervan or roof-package on your car. Self-service food and drinks from machine inside the lobby. out of office time arrivals are cared for and prepared. Lots of sapce, little extras and almost fully equipped kitchenette for a small amount of money. well-located (next to mainroad AND citiy centre!) what more could you wish for? In my case: 63 € for a four-people appartment (city tax excluded) on booking DOT com!

Good appartment near the city center of Besancon

Nice and well equipped appartments with kitchenette and a spacious bathroom just 10 minutes by feet to the city center. Garage is affordable and can be reached by elevator which also leads to the rooms. We can espcially recommend the breakfast with very goods and regional food at a very good price. The staff is very friendly and helpful!
