Location

The guesthouse is located 3.5 km from the centre of Bayonne, at the foot of the Pyrenees and on the Atlantic coast. Within walking distance of the hotel, guests will find restaurants, bars and shopping opportunities.     Dated but good.

    This hotel has been around for a long while and it shows it's age. Aged as it may be, it is still a fine place to stay overnight. Although expensive, the breakfast is good and the buffet has something for everone's taste.     We stayed here for 1 night en route to Spain. Our room was adequate at best - although to be fair, I was suffering from a leg injury and was unable to climb stairs.There was no lift, so I asked for a ground floor room rather than the first floor room we had originally been allocated.The room (007) we were given was clean, but devoid of any semblance of charm. Tiny pillows, tired and dated furnishings.The dining area was again basic, but the food was ok. Staff were rigid on the Covid-19 distancing and mask wearing, which was excellent.Staff were helpful and friendly.Would we stay here again? Probably not.     I stayed 2 night at the Campanile Bayonne and I enjoyed even the restaurant . It was a good "buffet" diner.The hotel / restaurant building is renewed and is nice to stay.Poeple working there are efficient and very discreet .     Staying here for one night en route from Spain to Le Havre to Portsmouth. The hotel makes me think of motels I’ve seen on USA tv, i.e. purpose designed for travellers passing through. Our room is clean, comfortable and warm. We received a warm welcome at reception, friendly staff. Evening meal and breakfast. For our purpose on this trip this hotel is ideal.     One of the best Campanile hotels I have stayed at. Interior seemed quite new as it had usb connections by the bed. Good sized bathroom. My only complaint was that the air conditioning unit didn't work very well and the room smelt stale, air freshener wouldn't go amiss!!
