Not a 4 star hotel
26 May 2026
We liked the restaurant and food was nice. The staff were very nice and helpful and the location good but that’s where it ends. This is not a 4 star hotel. Air con did not work and obviously had not been working for some time. Luckily the lady on reception brought a fan. The room, bed and bathroom very small this made the room unbearably hot. The shower was broken so I had to use as hand held. The light switch cover fell off. No fridge and only one bottle of very warm water. The hand wash bottle didn’t work. I would not stay here again. Direction Hôtel Le Bayonne, Directeur général at LE BAYONNE, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are glad to read that you enjoyed our restaurant, the quality of the food, as well as the friendliness and helpfulness of our team.We are, however, sorry that certain aspects of your stay did not fully meet your expectations. Regarding the air conditioning, we would like to clarify that it is fully operational in all of our rooms. During your stay, the region was experiencing an exceptional heatwave. In addition, as part of our environmental commitment, our air conditioning systems are programmed with a minimum temperature setting. We have also taken note of your comments regarding the shower and the maintenance issues you mentioned. These points have been forwarded to our technical team so that the necessary checks can be carried out.Regarding the absence of a minibar, we would like to point out that this amenity is not included in the room category you booked. Minibars are available in our Comfort rooms, and the amenities included in each room category are clearly detailed at the time of booking. We remain at your disposal should you wish to discuss your experience in more details.Regards,The Management team

Great central hotel
20 Jan 2026
Great hotel! The three of us had single rooms and all were spacious and very clean. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant was very good for breakfast, plenty of options for all including coeliacs. The location is excellent, 5 mins walk from the main bar/ restaurant area. The only issue was that the hotel bar was not open to the weekend, but with the bars so close it wasn’t a big one. The hotel was quiet and had a relaxed vibe, great for a long weekend. In the town all of the restaurants we visited (without any research!) served delicious food. The people in the area were great. It’s a few minutes in a taxi away from the train station so Biarritz was a short train away and San Sebastián and hour in the car.
