Facility

The hotel has 138 double rooms, which are located on 8 storeys and are reachable by lift. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. A baggage storage service and a safe are available. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The hotel offers a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. Children can enjoy the playground.     Convenient Location and Clean Rooms but Disappointing Breakfast and Poor Bathroom Design

    Location & Accessibility:Novotel Bordeaux Centre is conveniently located — about a 30-minute walk or 15-minute drive from Bordeaux Saint-Jean train station, the city’s main transport hub. The area feels safe and pleasant for walking, and the hotel provides easy access to the city’s main attractions, including Place de la Bourse and Miroir d’Eau, Opéra National de Bordeaux, and the magnificent Cathédrale Saint-André with Tour Pey Berland nearby. Shops and restaurants are within comfortable reach, making it a practical base for exploring the city.Cleanliness & Maintenance:The hotel maintains strong standards of cleanliness. The room was spotless upon arrival, and daily housekeeping was consistent and thorough. Public areas such as the lobby and hallways were also well-maintained and tidy.Room Quality & Comfort:The room was comfortable, with quality linens and a good level of quietness. Everything worked properly, though there were several inconveniences: only a couple of tea and coffee bags, two glasses for three guests, and no bottled water in the room. The reception also did not inform guests that water bottles could be filled downstairs. There was only one power socket near the beds, making it difficult to charge multiple devices. The toilet was separated from the wash area, which felt impractical — especially when needing immediate access to water after use. In addition, there was no air conditioning or ventilation in the toilet, making it uncomfortable to use. These design choices reduced overall comfort, despite the otherwise functional layout.Service & Staff:Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the staff were polite, professional, and accommodating. They were helpful in arranging a taxi during checkout, responding promptly and courteously.Food & Beverage:The breakfast was the weakest part of the stay. The food lacked freshness, with several items appearing stale or old, and the variety was limited for a hotel in this category. Though it was a self-service buffet, the overall quality, presentation, and taste did not meet Novotel’s usual standards.Value for Money:Despite the breakfast disappointment and awkward bathroom layout, the hotel offers good value for its location, cleanliness, and professional service.     Lovely hotel for a stay in Bordeaux 🇫🇷

    Warm and welcoming hotel / all staff very friendly / rooms clean, water hot, coffee machine (what else do you want !!!). Located right next to the super efficient tram line - direct from the Airport or into centre of Bordeaux (albeit only a 20 min walk max !!). Breakfast and dinner were excellent and all served in a very relaxed and friendly manner. We really enjoyed our stay here.     View from room was nice of the side street.Bed was very uncomfortable. Decor was very nice both in room and bar and restaurant.     Novotel should be ashamed putting their name to this hotel. Our room was very old with a strange smell in the bathroom. It even had a hair-dryer contraption attached to the wall, something I haven't seen for over 20 years. Also, the room hadn't been cleaned properly on our arrival, there was no fridge in the room and you can't adjust the air conditioning so the room stayed hot. The hotel is also quite a distance away from town, we found ourselves having to walk 20-30 minutes for our tours and decent restaurants. We were hoping for a good breakfast after reading the reviews but it was disappointing to say the least. The drinks from the bar were good but way overpriced. One positive was our interaction with the staff but overall the hotel is a disgrace, especially for the price
