  Value for money. Perfect situation.

  I have stayed at this hotel 3 times now and am always surprised at the value for money. It is across the road from the Gare St Jean Station in Bordeaux, so you literally fall out of the train into the hotel reception. The rooms are clean, have en-suite bathrooms and have the amenities required for an overnight stay. If you are venturing further, all the car hire options are across the road at the station. It is on the tram line if you wish to venture into central Bordeaux, and has a bus stop for transfers to and from the airport. The hotel is surrounded by eating options for any budget. Reception is friendly and efficient. I recommend this hotel to any traveller needing a good overnight stay without having to pay for unnecessary frills.

  Some train stations are more dodgy than others, but not the one at Bordeaux. The location is super perfect, because I could take the trams from there and make my way around the city. Breakfast is basic, but was sufficient for my needs. I wouldn't mind staying there again if I were to come to Bordeaux in the future again.

  Tiny room, not a great part of town

  Postage stamp sized room, just ridiculously small. Bathroom also tiny. Good staff. Short tram ride to popular part of Bordeaux. Cafes out front are okay, not great. It's not a great neighborhood, frankly. Not really at ease walking around at nice in the vicinity of the hotel. Only book here if there are no other options.

  We arrived at 1am without a booking!When we eventually found the man at the front desk he was quick and helpful to get us two rooms. It's cheap for central Bordeaux however the rooms were small, clean, and functional. I wouldn't want to stay here long but it did the job.

  It’s called Budget for a reason. Visited for the Rugby World Cup. Shared a twin room with another fan who thankfully was a mate, or it could have been a bit awkward squeezing round the bedroom furniture and sharing the facilities. Good point - fresh towels every day. Bad point - they were only slightly bigger than tea towels. Clean but not very comfortable bed with highly mobile mattress topper and the worst pillow in the world. Weak and cramped shower with a wall mounting which fell off. Air con? Not working initially and not exactly arctic after we complained. Repaired promptly however. Everything cheap when it was new and it isn’t new any more. Breakfast also basic and self service / self clearing. Same every day. Staff tried hard, though. Summary - served a purpose but wouldn’t use it again despite it’s convenient location. OK for a couple of days but you’ll need to set a low bar to avoid being disappointed.
