    Welcoming relaxing retreat

    rating03 Oct 2025

Tres jolie. Highly recommended tranquil oasis in the Bordeaux countryside. Room was very clean and well presented. The breakfast was a real treat, the fresh local produce was delicious. The staff were most helpful and attentive. Jean Philippe Illarine, Propriétaire at Clos Marcamps Les Collectionneurs, responded to this review Hello, thank you for this wonderful feedback. It is a pleasure to read that you were able to enjoy a moment of calm in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyards and that you enjoyed the local produce at breakfast. A Tranquil Slice of French Perfection.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at Clos Marcamps, a true hidden gem just outside Bordeaux. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely relaxed and looked after. The staff are fantastic: Jean-Philippe, the owner, is welcoming and attentive. Lisa and Elsa, who run the breakfasts, were equally charming – warm, friendly, and always happy to help. They strike the perfect balance of being available without ever being intrusive. And speaking of breakfast – what a treat. Every item is carefully chosen, with the focus on top-quality, locally sourced produce. It’s an experience in itself: fresh juices, artisan breads, local cheeses, yoghurts, jams and honey ... everything delicious. The setting is peaceful and the fact that there are only six rooms makes the experience feel personal and exclusive. You’re never just another guest here – you’re looked after. Our room was stylish, spacious, and spotless, with thoughtful touches throughout. The pool area was equally serene.Clos Marcamps is the kind of place you hesitate to write about because you want to keep it a secret… but it deserves every bit of praise. We recommend it without hesitation. A beautiful location, with easy access to Bordeaux and beyond.

We stopped here overnight while travelling south from the ferry. Clos Marcamps was stunningly clean and well maintained, the owners friendly and welcoming and the simple food offering very welcome after a long day of travel. This is a little oasis just north of Bordeaux and we would very happily stay here again. Clos Marcamps, Propriétaire at Clos Marcamps Les Collectionneurs, responded to this review Dear Richard, we are delighted to read that you were charmed by our guest house, Clos Marcamps, even if it was only for one night on your way to your vacation destination. Delightful stay

    rating11 Jul 2025

Clos Marcamps is a beautiful place which has been restored to a high standard. It's a little oasis of calm with a relaxing atmosphere. The grounds are a lovely sanctuary, with the swimming pool a great spot to relax in the recent very hot weather. The hosts can't do enough for you - very welcoming and gave lots of useful advice about places to see in the area, best places to park etc. These tips made our stay even more enjoyable. You could choose either to stay put and chill or to travel around the area, as the accommodation is well placed for access to Bordeaux, Blayes, the Bay of Arcadian, Dune de Pilat and St Emilion. We enjoyed breakfast on the terrace - the food provided was of very good quality and locally sourced. We thoroughly recommend a stay here. I was shocked to see an earlier adverse review as it was at odds with our experience, but reading between the lines this seemed to be more about the bad behaviour of the guests concerned. Clos Marcamps, Propriétaire at Clos Marcamps Les Collectionneurs, responded to this review Hello, thank you very much for this wonderful review of your stay at Clos Marcamps, which seems to have won you over.It is always a pleasure to offer our guests a personalized welcome and service in order to provide them with the best options and activities during their stay. We are delighted that you enjoyed it. The location of our guest house, between several points of interest such as Bordeaux, Saint-Émilion, and Arcachon, offers a wide range of activities that our guests particularly enjoy. We are also happy to hear that the summer temperatures allowed you to enjoy our breakfast on the terrace of the common room. Our team would be delighted to welcome you back on your next visit to Gironde.
