    The only decent thing about the place – apart from the convenient location for the night – was the bed, which I found large and comfortable. As for the rest... shabby, down-at-heel and, frankly, pretty gross. There was black mould on the shower ceiling, mould in the corners of the shower and dirty walls. In the main room the cushions didn't smell clean, and I wanted them off the bed as soon as possible. I also felt uncomfortable walking on the carpet barefoot. The restaurant offered a very poor choice of food and it was, all in all, a very unedifying experience. The room just felt grubby and we were very happy to leave. The place needs a serious update. Feels like it has just been left uncared for and unmaintained. The restaurant has had a makeover but due to the limited menu, really does not make up for the state of the room. I understand that you get what you pay for but even for what we paid for an overnight I didn't expect this level of... decay.

    Having left a necklace in our room I realised 2 hours into our journey and phoned the reception immediately . It appeared I was speaking to a man who was not on site . I understood ( my French is ok) to call back at 12 noon . When I did , the man said no, he said 16.00.I couldn’t understand. Why I couldn’t reqch a member of staff when the hotel was open and I’d left at 7.30 and it was only 9.30?Oddly I couldn’t get anyone to answer the phone whereas the Louvre hotel customer service could (twice) . I sent an email which also was not answered until Louvre customer service were involved . The answer was of course ‘ we can’t find your necklace . This whole communication went on from Friday until Tuesday . Oddly on the terrace where we had a glass of wine there was a sign asking residents to take care of belongings in parked cars.This was a very upsetting experience . The nonchalance of the hotel compounded my sadness at losing a piece of jewellery that held sentiment .

    After a very long days travel was annoyed to find that the Restaurant was closed for a private party! And alternative facilities had to be located. Shower head came off and flooded shower room! Black mould on shower tray! Waste bin full!

    Made a quick stop here to break our journey down France. Pluses: they allow pets (we had cats) in the room and you can park your car outside and away from the front. The restaurant seems to open every night - rare in France!Minuses : it is very basic and the food wasn’t great. The beef bourguignon was all fat.

    Easy to get to, perfect for an overnight stay if travelling to the south. You know what to expect , small rooms, thin walls etc but the beds comfy and the shower is hot. Food is always good quality. There was some refurbishment work being undertaken so hopefully when we stop next year the much needed makeover will have been completed.
