    Iconic centraly located hotel with great views and service

    This is a large and iconic hotel on the famous Cannes Croisette. It is extremely centraly located and we walked everywhere. The service was really exceptional and we thank everyone for their kindness. We enjoyed the room with balcony overlooking the sea and found it clean and comfortable. We would suggest that the hotel offer high quality cotton blankets because even thought it was not very hot outside we found the duvet stuffy and overly dense. Even with the AC on 18 degrees it was too warm. We also felt the pillows could be improved. The breakfasts were excellent and on a lovely outdoor terrace. Our spa treatments were high quality. The swimming pool gets shallow very quickly and we thought the charges to sit on the beach were exorbitant. It would be far better to include this service for hotel guests or provide this service at a far lower cost. The steam and sauna were out of action during our stay. We hope to stay there again. Highly recommended.

    High quality hotel in a great location

    I stayed at the Majestic in early May to accompany my elderly mother on a nostalgia holiday to the Cote d'Azur (me 57, Mum 82). The Majestic is in a great location. Obviously it's on the Croisette and very close to the Palais des Festivals and the old port. You're 5-6 mins walk from all the restaurants on and around Rue Hoche, 5 mins from the shops on Rue d'Antibes and 6-7 mins walk from the train station (trips to Nice, Monaco etc). We booked two interconnecting 'Prestige Sea View' rooms. I booked early and was successfully able to request rooms on a higher floor for the better sea view, which turned out to be wonderful (545 and 546). The rooms didn't have a sofa, only two comfy chairs, but we didn't mind that. Concierge and front desk service were efficient. We dined at Ciro's one night - see separate review. We didn't dine at Fouquet's because the menu didn't appeal but the bar looked like a very nice venue for pre or post dinner drinks. Overall, I would recommend and would certainly go back.     My stay at Hôtel Le Majestic Barrière Cannes was nothing short of outstanding. Thanks to my Leading Hotels of the World booking, I was graciously upgraded to a fabulous room with a stunning beach and pool view, which immediately set the tone for a truly special stay.The hotel embodies refined luxury in every detail from the beautiful interiors to the impeccable service.     "Majestic" hotel in a great location

    We love staying here when visiting Cannes and there are really not many other options in the same category. The renovated Carlton is nice too but the rooms there are rather small. The Majestic has a good choice of bigger sized rooms with terraces. Service from housekeeping was not great during this stay. We had to call too many times for things missing from normal daily service, and a couple of times there was no turndown service in the evening. No complimentary water bottles offered which is rather unusual nowadays. The downside was that loud music which was played in the open bar in the inner courtyard throughout the day and this could be a very loud DJ set in the afternoon or later in the evening after dinner time. Like me, I guess some guest like to enjoy a bit of quiet to relax or like to read or work which is simply not possible with the loud sound from outside (even when windows are closed - but you would want the open for the nice breeze anyway). Not sure if we will return again in the future.     I went for a business conference and check in started with a bang as I was upgraded to a suite on the top floor with a terrasse and a view to die for (figuratively) . Le Majestic in line with the other Barrière properties (think La Baule, Deauville or Dinars) is more French coziness and style than global luxury - not necessarily a bad thing. What made my stay truly memorable was the kindness and personal touch of the whole staff from breakfast to night cap .
