Need repair and upgrade

When we arrived we were given room 19, but upon entry the electricity in the room was not working. Staff said they would rectify it and we went out for dinner. On our return we were told it could not be fixed and they would move us to a room (11 ) across the street and they attempted to say it was a better room, it was not. The electrics in this room also need attention as one of the lamps wiring needs to be repaired. The local street cleaning started at 5am and went on for about two hours right below our room, significant noise. No apologies for moving us. Photo of the new room attached and that is a torn curtain. The carpets in the stairwell are well past replacement time.

Room was fine. All clean. I was in the annex and was offered to visit the room before paying. I had a nice quiet night. But some things should be improved for a 4 star quality. The entry to the other building is creepy. The shower was not up to the standards and please get rid of the carpet.

Thumbs Up BIG time for Carcassonne

This hotel is smack bang in the middle of medieval Carcassonne surrounded by small boutique shops and a vast array of restaurants. It's only a 25mins walk into the main city of Carcassonne across the historic Pont Vieux. Both areas of Carcassonne are overwhelming! I felt at home in each area and was able to practise my French and be appreciated! No words can describe the medieval city, however. It exceeded all my expectations and then some - a working city within a city!At the hotel, we were in rm 2. An aptly decorated room with a wonderful view of the castle turrets, quaint shops and restaurant. The room did need some TLC in the bathroom but it was clean and adequate for our stay. There were coffee making facilities but no milk. Water in fridge. The breakfast was sparse but filled a gap until we were out and about. The staff in reception were welcoming and spoke English with ease. We organised a transfer from the airport to hotel in advance. As no cars are allowed in the medieval city, we were dropped off outside the ramparts and had a short walk to the hotel. Luggage could be taken up for us but we only had one bag. The hotel is pretty with quirky decor and lovely outdoor spaces kept prim and proper. We would return without issue!

Lovely for a short break from the south of UK

Stayed for 3 nights to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary... a short hop from Bournemouth to Carcassone with Ryanair, with ZERO problems with immigration/security at either end (don't believe the hype we were through both airports within 20 minutes). Very comfortable room and friendly, smiling hotel staff.Ideally located for a short break with possibly a hundred restaurants, cafes and bistros within a 5 minute walk.

A very well appointed hotel in the heart of the medieval city. The communal areas of the hotel are beautifully maintained and decorated. The rooms are a little more basic but perfectly comfortable. We had a gorgeous little private terrace out of the back which was a lovely place to sit with a glass of wine.The bathroom was small but well equipped with a decent hairdryer and toiletries.Breakfast was included and had plenty of choice from pastries, fruit and yoghurt to warm eggs, bacon and sausages.Delightful friendly staff. Would definitely stay again.
