  IBIS complete lack of Style

  My wife and I stayed there for one night in June booked and completely paid for ( except for the tourist tax) through an awards program. Upon arrival we were told that while we had a reservation it was not paid for and we needed to pay before getting a room. While this surprised us, it had been a long drive and we just paid the bill hoping to get it sorted out when we returned home. That sorting out is still ongoing and does not look good. Regardless of what was described above, the room that we doubled paid for was small, dirty and badly in need of a refresh. What passed for an air conditioner was so noisy that we had to turn it off and depend on one open windrow which did not provide much ventilation. Buffet breakfast was adequate but not very appealing. Ibis should be ashamed to be associated with this hotel.

  We spent a night in Vichy on our way to UK. The location of the hotel is amazing unfortunately it is not what we were expecting cleaning wise. The room was cleanish. The high level and behind the curtains haven’t been clean for some time as at least a dozen of spiders have made home there. My wife and my kid were terrified as they were crawling on the curtains. Went to the reception and even after hours the receptionist was brilliant and apologetic. He offered us another room but unfortunately was the same like the previous. The mattresses and sheets were stained. My wife couldn’t rest at all.The breakfast was good and the staff seemed nice.The price was a bit too much for what we got, we could have gone to a normal Ibis or a budget one for less money.Next time I won’t choose Ibis Syles again as they don’t represent the Ibis family right.

  Worst Accor hotel we’ve ever stayed in.

  Good points - location and car park.Bad points - several (see below)Key card; key cards have the room number clearly displayed on them rendering room anonymity pointless. Crazy.Maintenance; bathroom latch in our room was broken and obviously had been for some time. It was impossible to close the door securely.Housekeeping; poor. Towels were changed on a daily basis but the bed was not straightened. I don’t expect clean bedding everyday but the bed should be made and tidied up. Our room was very dusty and the carpet unvacuumed. Corridors were dingy and dusty. Overall, the hotel is grubby and due for refurbishment. Breakfast; a limited range of cheap, low-quality food. And not much of it. Guests arriving after 09:00 are likely to find some items unavailable.Staff; mixed. Mostly polite and friendly but a young woman member of staff on duty at breakfast needs some customer service training. She is surly and offhand. I expect to receive the standard ‘thanks for drawing this to our attention and we’ll strive to improve’ response. It’s not good enough. As well as this review I’ve submitted a full complaint to Accor.

  We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights with a 8 months old child. We reserved a baby bed but uppon our arrival this wasn't available. The room was not that clean and has an older look. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast was ok.   We stayed here for the Ironman. Fantastic location on running route and short distance to start. Super friendly staff that really looked after us. The were so race oriented with breakfast at 4a and taxis to start! Even helped us find a pharmacy on a Sunday. Left us a gift after the race with sweet handwritten message. Merci Ibis!
