    Beautiful mountain location

    rating20 May 2026

The hotel is in a beautiful setting in a narrow gorge, with views of steep forested mountains close and far away, complete with a gushing river tumbling over rocks. The room was very large and clean yet basic. No duvet but there were blankets. The ground floor has a bar area where staff will serve drinks or food from a small menu. You can sit outside and listen to the river or sunbath. There’s a warm under cover pool with retractable roof and also a jacuzzi. Parking is limited. You can park down the steep hill but difficult to manoeuvre or on the side of the road. Corte is about a twenty minute walk downhill for more bars and restaurants. Some oddities, but very good overall

    rating15 Sept 2025

It’s out of town, but as a place tovisut, Corsica isn’t really about the towns. Aside from the views from the hotel itself, there are paths to the riverside not far away. Grumpy madame? Not in my experience - though that was possibly assisted by my first words being in French. Our rooom was well appointed, with more electric sockets than our previous Corsica hotels, and wi-fi that works properly. Minor exception in the bathroom, which had examples of two globally common faults - a hand sink plug that doesn’t keep water at all well, and thw shower experience where a screen along the too of the bath has a considerable gap. Breakfast is a bit of a mixed bag - some common options missing, but lots of local options including good charcuterie, though some of the cakes seemed raher dry - local style, I think. The rare human rather than a machine provding coffee didn’t really understand how English folk might like their coffee as well as some other people in Corsica. Impersonal as it may be, a machine would probably have been better for us. No restaurant, but the one just a few minutes walk up the road is very good.First of 5 Corsican hotels chosen by our holiday company with a lift, and entrances at ground and road level (different by 3 floors). If you can get a parking spot on the road, that avoids a fairly tight lower car park with a tree as an extra challenge. Basic

    rating09 Sept 2025

Quite far out, a long uphill walk from the train station, mostly without pavements and unlit. Lovely pool and outside area, great to access swimming in the stream in the valley. Breakfast was okay but you need to argue if you book with it included in the rate as we did (they tried to charge us). The staff were unfriendly, they left at 8pm, everything closed at that time, the only way of getting food or drink after that was a vending machine but that was broken. Basic rooms with uncomfortable beds, shower took forever to get warm. The next closest hotel (Auberge) has a fantastic restaurant and was very close, but they are closed on Mondays so it was a half hour walk each way to town for food/drink. No taxis seem to be available.

Fantastic location along the beautiful Restonica river Valley

    rating28 Aug 2024

The setting is wonderful along the Restonica Valley along the river among the trees and within a couple of kilometers from the information hut at Chjarasgiolu and the starting point of many walks and hikes. You hear the burble of the river day and night, perfect white noise. Swimming in the river at various spots is a highlight of my stay in Corsica. I'd read with some of the more critical reviews of the hotel and the responses from management and arrived ready for a bit of a cheeky attitude, which I duly received and played along. Take it in your stride. The room was large, clean and simply furnished. The heated towel rail in the bathroom was on full blast and didn't want to turn off when we entered the room, but we managed to tame it. It was useful to dry kit on even in mid summer. The pool and jaccuzzi were welcome. There's a terrace overlooking the river. Take water shoes if you don't have Hawaiian feet. Breakfasts were the usual 3* buffet with a few cooked things, cold cuts, cheese, cereal etc. and lots of cakes, self service on a plastic tray, drinks to order.A couple of tips on transport to and from the hotel without a car: it's two kilometers from the train station, not great walk as a lot of the road is without pavements. There's a taxi service that needs to be booked well in advance and no Ubers to speak of. The Restonica shuttle bus runs to and from the station along the road the hotel is on, but there isn't an official stop there. The app for tickets is far from user friendly. We asked the drivers to drop us off by the hotel and offered them something for their assistance. For the evening, the hotel next door has a very good restaurant with a terrace overlooking the river, about three minutes' walk away, we ate there two nights running. The Jardins de la Glacier has its own restaurant further along the road which we didn't try. But there are options if you don't want to go into Corte to eat. Highly overpriced for mediocre service and poor management

    rating19 Sept 2023

Beautiful location and could be a great hotel but current management don’t seem to care much and service is average to poor. Toilet seat in room was not attached! They had no tonic in the bar and no butter left for breakfast. We forgot a pair of shoes in the room but « nobody had seen them » when we called 2 days later. The price is outrageous for this hotel! 185 euros for a double room. Hotel Lesjardinsdelaglacière, Propriétaire at Hotel Les Jardins De La Glaciere, responded to this review hy, you certainly forgot the rate of 185€ is including the fulle buffet breakfast for 2 + the city taxes.and i assure we do have shoe shops in corte, don't need yoursgood holydays Jean-christophe
