  Reserved superior double. Arrived - “you’ve been upgraded”It wasn’t an upgrade. Full sized fridge freezer in the room which was noisy. 1 double, 1 sofa bed (renamed taco bed)Dining table - why? It did prove useful for the ironing mat though. Roman blind on one window didn’t work as the strings had been removed. Sink plug impossible to remove using the lever on the tap. So we stole a knife from the dining room in order to pry it out. The patio doors didn’t lock. Raised this with reception and was met with “it doesn’t matter”. The sliding bathroom door didn’t slide, neither did the wardrobe doors without a lot of effort. Asked daily to change rooms as the taco bed was playing havoc with my back and was met with “we’re full”. Considering I’d made the reservation in January for a “deluxe twin” you’d be mistaken for thinking it would be a done deal. Tv shocking. No satellite connection or casting available. Street facing in front of a busy junction. Noisy. Pool nice. But at times beds taken up by locals to the detriment of guests. Towels easy to get - exchange for the tickets issued at reception and return at the end of the day. Pool bar closes at 8pm. Can recommend the Greek salad however 250ml of bottled beer at €4 is pushing it. Housekeeping excellent. Breakfast was good. The usual fare, lots of fruit which was appreciated. Didn’t try the bacon or sausages because the bacon looked like it had been cremated and the sausages were mini hotdogs which isn’t a preference of mine. They do have a hot plate where you can fry eggs, which is a bit nifty. Sliced bread was far too sweet but the baguettes were delicious. 3 choices of fruit juice and bottled water. The hotel is a maze, we’d just about cracked getting around on day five! Would we return? No. It’s expensive for what you get (as is Corsica in general which we knew having been before) and we’d be hesitant to recommend. Service with a smile doesn’t exist here, except for the staff at the pool who were lovely. Spiga next to the hotel does fantastic sandwiches and salads.

  Hi We stayed 3 nights. The hotel room was comfortable, however it was facing the street which made the mornings very noisy with people leaving the hotel and the sound of the train in the distance. The bed was comfortable, shower over the bath, had to be careful in stepping out. Nice to have free parking out the front. Very helpful reception staff,. Walkable to restaurants in the city, but a bit of a hill to climb to get back to hotel Sushi restaurant near hotel is excellent if you don’t want to venture downtown

  Unfussy & great value hotel with a strong location

  Just come back from a relaxing short break at the Hotel Mariana. I stayed in a standard double room - while it was by no means the fanciest & most modern hotel room I've ever had (can't remember the last time my hotel safe had a physical key!), the basics were done well (clean, good size, nice bed, decent bathroom, plenty of storage space, well-located sockets).The breakfast was strong for a 3* hotel - lots of variety, and everything I had was enjoyable.While I only had a brief look at the pool, gym & terrace; from what I saw they all seemed decent.Given the location (<10 min walk to both the old town & the beach - just be preapared for a relatively steep road up/down), I thought my room was great value for money. I'd happily go back to the Mariana on a future trip to Calvi.

  Lovely hotel in great location

  This hotel is perfectly situated close to the centre of Calvi. We had a lovely room with great views over Calvi. The room was spacious, well furnished and spotlessly clean. All the staff were friendly and helpful and we were able to get an early breakfast on our last day so we could get the 7am train.

  Absolutely outstanding hotel. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The rooftop pool is stunning. We are on b and b and the breakfast is also lovely. Lots of choice and all very fresh. I emailed beforehand to let them know my partner is vegan and they had the almond milk ready. They decorated the room beautifully for our honeymoon too. The cleaners are superb as the hotel is spotless. Lots of free parking if you hire a car. A short 5 min walk to the marina, citadel or beach. Bit of a hill on way back but entirely doable. Rooms are so well equipped with air con, fridge, tea/coffee, safe, everything you need. We will most definitely be back. ??
