Convenient hotel if you are in Bastia.

The Hôtel Posta Vecchia consists of two buildings, one across from the other. The room we were assigned is located in the building where the hotel reception is, a rather new building with a very small elevator that can accommodate one person and their luggage. Our room was clean, simple, essential, and comfortable at the same time, equipped with a shower gel with an excellent and unforgettable citrus scent.The main feature of this hotel is its strategic location, as it is situated between the blue sea and the historic center of Bastia and about a 15-minute walk from the citadel.The staff was friendly and also speaks English. Horrible management. Greedy, and unethical. I have a written agreement with them from a cancellation last year that I could use the booking at a later date. Within twelve months of the original booking. I’ve tried contacting them numerous times but to no avail. Because they’d rather keep my money than honour the agreement.

Small stay on Bastia for a wedding.

Very friendly welcome. The staff is attentive and very helpful. The room is simple, clean, equipped (hair dryer, tv, shower gel...). Very comfortable bedding. Close to port and citadel. Recommended for small budgets. Originally submitted in French on www.tripadvisor.fr. View originals.

This hotel either has 2 structures or a double personality, as the rooms on their website are NOTHING like what we encountered. Our experience was terrible. Our original room was 604 – up under the eaves. The bathroom was inexcusable – the cauk around the toilet was cracked and orange in some places. There was no shower, but a small tub in the middle of the wall with a shower hose – no enclosure. We requested to change rooms and took a much smaller one in the same building which at least had a passable bathroom but so tiny we can't believe it passed as a room. The overall condition of the hotel inside is worn and tired. The walls are thin, the door hardware very old and inadequate, not enough electrical outlets in the room, you can hear everything in neighboring rooms…. The elevator holds one person only, two if you know each other well but with no baggage. If you are two people with backpacks, one is taking the stairs. The website said breakfast starts at 7am, but continental breakfast available ‘to go’. Turns out the ‘to go’ option does not exist. Looking at the website we can honestly say we have no idea where the photos came from... our view was the wall across the street and nothing like what we experienced. Posta Vecchia has seen better days. It’s time for a complete overhaul, and to be avoiced until then.
