    A bit disappointed

    rating25 Aug 2019

I was in Ajaccio for 3 days. First when I saw the hotel I thought it was just a regular building. It doesn't look like a hotel. The room was very nice and the wifi was great even in a room. We had big bathroom with a bath and a toilet was separate. The AC was good but the part of the AC on the balcony was blowing hot air on the balcony (it was suppose to be turned to blow over the balcony). So if we were on the balcony it was blowing towards us and if we were inside, the AC was blowing directly towards us as well because it was turned to blow where I slept. So the only good thing was that it was working. The room was nice and clean and the cleaning ladies were very nice! The other staff were nice as well. The pool gets "heated" because of the sun which means is NOT heated! For breakfast we could choose over ham, cornflakes, honey, bread, marmalade, fruit and the drinks. Only one day we had nutella as well. The hotel is 40 minutes away from city center by foot, and 15 minutes away from the beaches by car. You can take the bus 2bis which costs 1 euro per person and for back and/or the the beaches, bus number 5 which costs 3 euros per person. Buses are NOT on time!!! Sometimes it comes 10 minutes to early or it is 10 minutes late.If you decide to book a room ask for a room with the balcony and seaside it is just breathtaking in the morning.I think we paid way too much. I wouldn't recommend it.

I liked how deep and long the pool was. One of the receptionists was also quite amicable and the bathroom was nice and big. However, the bed wasn't amazing and the room itself rather inelegant. It was also a bit too far from the centre, but it's not exactly their fault. I thought it was rather expensive, as all places are in Corsica in this season.

Great - But exactly what it says on the tin

There are no airs and graces with this 3 star hotel. The rooms are basic but have working aircon and WiFi. No kettle or fridge. Great pool although a little weathered. The kidswon’t care. Deck chairs and lots of shady areas around he pool. There is a nice cafe / bar where you can have a coffee or a drink. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the maids are attentive and hard working. We stayed a week and enjoyed every minute. Sea View rooms are excellent.Bus stop to Ajaccio is just a 5 minute walk (£1 per trip or £3 for all day pass - ‘pass journee’). Pay on the bus. No 5 or 2bis buses into town or out to Parata (not much to see but nice scenic drive out there on the bus). There is a pharmacy, boulangerie (bakery/patisserie) and a supermarket just down the hill (3 min walk). Plenty of free parking too.The hotel is not cheap but neither is Corsica.

    Decent, honest, basic hotel

    rating10 Aug 2018

Sun Beach Hotel is around 2 km west of Ajaccio town centre, and overlooks the bay. It has 10 floors, with approx 14 rooms on each floor. It's of concrete construction, and the rooms are all a good size with their own en-suite and air conditioning as standard. We booked for one night at the end of our holiday, so we could chill out and relax before flying back to the UK. The price was low for the area. We booked this hotel as it had a pool, and we just wanted to stay near to the airport as we had been staying up in the mountains. So, we were met by the receptionist who was very friendly, and gave us our keys to the rooms. The rooms are very basic, but have air con, and are of good size. Our rooms had balconies - I think they all do. The beds are comfortable and well presented, and there's a TV with all the local channels, simple washing items and towels. It's all very clean and tidy, although a bit dated, which we expected at such a reasonable price. The pool is nice too, and there are a few sun loungers available, and you can use the hotel towels at the pool. The bar is on the ground floor and serves all day. There's a restaurant too, although we chose to eat out.In all, a decent hotel for not too much wonga, ideal for a short stay.

    Outdated and overpriced

    rating17 Sept 2017

Located on the beach area about 4km from the train station. This is a large old hotel that needs a complete overhaul.I had to change rooms as my room didn't lock properly. Reception was very helpful. Wifi is only available at reception area and is glacial. Get the no 2 or no 5 bus to town It's only 1 euro. Really need to upgrade the bathrooms and all aspects of this hotel. No fridge in room. My room had view of hills and derelict tennis court.
