Location

Set in the Alpe d'Huez ski resort, the hotel is located 250 metres from the ski lifts and offers views of the valley. Various restaurants and shopping venues in the centre are approximately 100 m from the hotel. Lac du Chambon is 22 km from the accommodation, and guests can visit Grenoble, which is 56 km away. Geneve-Cointrin Airport is approximately 99 km and Lyon St-Exupéry Airport about 150 km from the establishment.

Facility

The hotel welcomes guests in a 2-storey building with a lift and 27 non-smoking rooms. The reception desk is open round the clock. A baggage storage service, a safe, a TV room and a smoke alarm are available. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. Sadly the swimming pool was closed due to a technical problem. So was the kitchen so no breakfast available. Offered free use of the steam room as compensation. Rooms clean and bright with a beautiful outlook. Basic but adequate. Bread delivery available and cooking facilities compact but adequate. We ate out quite a lot anyway. Would come again but would be better if everything was working! Amazing Stay at La Grande Vacances Alpenrose – Perfect Location & Exceptional Service!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at La Grande Vacances Alpenrose in Alpe d’Huez! From the moment we arrived, Kristina took such great care of us, making sure everything was perfect throughout our visit. Her warm hospitality and attention to detail really made our experience special.The hotel itself is cozy, comfortable, and perfectly located—right next to the lifts and close to all the essential city services. It’s almost ski-in/ski-out, making it incredibly convenient for hitting the slopes without hassle. After a long day of skiing, coming back to such a welcoming and well-kept place was a true pleasure.If you’re looking for a relaxing, well-situated, and guest-friendly place to stay in Alpe d’Huez, this is it! We stayed in this accommodation over February half term. Alpe D'Huez is a fantastic resort with great skiing and a bustling friendly vibe. This was somewhat spoiled by the owners of Alpen Rose deducting a cleaning fee from our already expensive holiday when we got home. We read carefully the exit instructions and spent the last evening of our holiday cleaning the apartment and ensuring all of the items listed on the cleaning instructions were covered including emptying bins, cleaning toilets, showers and the bath, floors, stripping beds etc. We have done this many times before in French accommodation and have never been told we haven't cleaned. The apartment looked better than when we arrived. We had found a lot of dust and dirt in cupboards, under the bathroom units etc. The cleaning fee was deducted and we were told we had left dog hair - we had no dog with us. Likewise, we had left rubbish in the bin. I had taken the bins out the night before taking a torch so I could avoid the countless pieces of dog poo that line the public drive of this accommodation. We thought it must be a mistake but no one will engage with us and we are now just annoyed at the way they have just taken money from us with no legitimate reason. This is marketed as an upper end property but it's actually quite basic. Clean and comfortable apartment, we had a one bed, 3 year old slept on the sofa bed (super easy to unfold and put away). Apartment did lack storage and any space to prep in the kitchenette. The coffee machine had to sit on the hob for example. I think with 2 kids it would have been very cramped.A bit of a walk from ESF, took about 10 mins with 3 year old. The location wasn’t ideal and there is no way to ski in/out closer, at least with this years snow conditions.Bakery delivery device was a nice touch, bit delivery time was too late for us to get breakfast into the 3 year old before we needed to leave for their ski school. Weirdly the intermarche didn’t sell pastries, needed to walk over to the main bit of town. A few restaurants/snack bars near the main marmottes lift area, but a lot more in the main part of town.Lift queues were horrendous, which ultimately would put us off going again.
