    Don’t book the place

    rating15 Feb 2026

just and awful place which has been left to ruin, no care no thought corporate owner who has never visited the place and it tells. Claims to be a 6 bedroom, but they have counted the garage as a bedroom. Everything shabby, horrible chalet seriously don’t bother booking it doesn’t deserve your money.

Charming good sized chalet for a large group - could do with a little TLC.

    rating06 Feb 2026

My family and I stayed in Les Chalets de L'Altiport for our ski trip. Ours was chalet Lena 1 specifically. Firstly the postitives - the chalets look so beautiful from the outside and they were ideally situated for accessing the pistes (just a couple of paces away). Inside, the look is traditional chalet so it was very charming and cosy! Plenty of room in the common area to sit around and relax by the fire. The private sauna downstairs was a great addition too and we all enjoyed it after a day on the slopes! The kitchen was suitably stocked with all the pots & pans you could need, there was a big dresser cabinet in the living room that had games, books & even a fondue and raclette set should you wish to use them. Each bedroom had it's own en-suite bathroom attached which is great with so many people. The reception staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful on arrival and thoroughly explained everything with all the relevant information. You are able to request bread delivery each day to your chalet as well which was super!Things that could be improved upon - the whole chalet is quite run down and tired, there are things that could do with repairing or updating, e.g. some of the doors & windows were a bit hard to open and close. The boot room is somewhat small for 12 people, however it does attach to the garage so there is more space for your equipment and for getting ready to go out/come back from skiing (we didn't find this a problem, just something to note). There did appear to be an issue with a bad sewerage smell coming from the toilets sometimes, especially those on the ground floor. Not sure if this is always the case or whether there was a particular problem at the time. In the boot room, there is a boiler with the boiler flue pipe leading outside, however the pipe was just put through a hole in the wall with a gap surrounding it (so not sealed) this meant that occasionally, if the wind was blowing in the right direction, you could smell gas because the wind had blown it back inside through the gap - again, didn't really bother us but not the best health and safety haha.So apart from the few things that require maintainance, overall we had a very enjoyable stay :)

Lovely situated cabins sadly lacking maintenance and detail

    rating09 Apr 2025

We were a large group of family and friends taking two cabins together Anika 1 and Anika two . The position of these were ideal sadly the weather being fabulous the snow disappeared at and alarming rate meaning ski in and out wasn’t possible after a couple of days but good bus service so not an issue . The cabins themselves I thought lacked maintenance maybe because it was at the end of the season so repars weren’t being attended to but lights and sockets in bedrooms weren’t working , shower tray in one room flooded when used . Door handles came off in your hand . The curtain in bedrooms were inadequate to keep out the light some rooms without even a curtain The bedrooms I thought were very uneven in sizes from large double with separate toilet and double hand basin with bath and a double bed to no more than a box room with single beds and no room between them or sufficient space for cupboard wardrobe area seems unfair distribution between couples sharing the total costs equally .The sauna was nice and clean and new but badly equipped for a booking of twelve people we had four robes to share between us all not very hygienic. Maybe a shower in there would be a thought for the future too . The towels supplied to each room also varied from a bath sheet to a very small towel totally inadequate to dry yourself with . The living had a lovely open fire and a welcoming feel but again seating totally inadequate for twelve people to sit comfortably. There was no outdoor lighting either this seemed rather dangerous when entering or leaving during the night given the uneven surfaces outside the front doors . I feel most of this review is quite negative but the issues are mainly easily rectified with closer attention to maintenance and attention to detail . If not highlighted then maybe will never be addressed. Madame Vacances, Marketing at Madame Vacances - Les Chalets de L'Altiport, responded to this review Hello,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are pleased to read that you enjoyed the location of the Anika chalets and the warm atmosphere of the lounge, and that the shuttle service was able to compensate for the changing snow conditions. We sincerely regret that some aspects of your accommodation did not live up to your expectations, particularly at the end of the season. Your comments on maintenance, sauna equipment, bedding and fittings will be passed on to our technical and maintenance teams so that we can make the necessary improvements. It is important for us to ensure optimum comfort, whatever the season. We hope that, despite these inconveniences, you have been able to enjoy some good times with family and friends. We hope to see you soon,The Madame Vacances team

    The best spot ever!

    rating06 Mar 2021

The chalets are just located on the slopes, you can take your skis from home and be right there on the on slopes. the residence itself is very cute: it looks like real swiss chalets. As well, we highly appreciated the "madame vacances" manager there: she was very helpful, customer oriented and very nice. It's not always the case. Ski France, General Manager at Madame Vacances - Les Chalets de L'Altiport, responded to this review Dear Sandra, Thank you for posting your very kind comments. The location of the chalets are indeed fantastic, ski-in-ski-out in one of France's best ski resorts. We are delighted you had a fantastic stay and hope to see you back soon. Kind regards, Ginny

    Shabby and dilapidated mess

    rating01 Jul 2020

Never in my years of travel have I come across such a shameful situation as presented by the chalet I rented through Madame Vacances at l'Altiport de Alpe d'Huez. Sticky, torn linoleum counters, cheap tin-like utensils, missing or broken curtain rods, bathtubs without any curtain or protective door, staircase steps and bannister separating into pieces, the cheapest of cheap furnishings, table lamps set on the floor because there were no side tables, the cheapest imaginable cutlery and utensils, so cheap as to be virtually useless, no potholders or dishtowels in the kitchen, severely scuffed stairs, stained walls, burn marks on couches, vast water stain from a ceiling leak, bottom price laminate built-ins warped by water and peeling with age. And I could go on. It is clear in every detail of this chalet that the owners have not spent one dime in the upkeep and refurbishment, repairs and replacements that a heavily used rental requires. Yes, this costs money. But it's insulting to the guests who PAY to stay in the place to presume that it is acceptable to proffer such an offering for any price whatsoever, given the lack of upkeep or investment apparent in every corner. I looked into one other of their units and it was in the same condition. I have owned a vacation and managed a rental apartment. I know that it takes money to maintain them. Shame on the owner(s) of this chalet for presenting it as they do.
