  we went skiing with three kids under 7 and although the accomodation was not luxury we would expect it for the price it was very good. great views from the apartments, supermarket nearby and great ski school for first timers. definately

  I have been in Residence Le Grand Balcon twice- both trip was in July. The only thing I can say is that I had a wonderful holiday! This is one bedroom apartment situated on a 6th floor for sleep up to 4 people with kitchenette and bathroom. I find there everything I needed. The view from the balcony is absolutely awesome! Mont Blanc is whole for you! Great location- walking distance for cable cars, bus stop just outside the building, 15 min away from Chamomix Mont Blanc. If you like the mountains you will love this place! My boyfriend and I am very happy to choose Le Grand Balcon. The price is very reasonable, great contact with a landlord and his representative in Les Houches. I can't wait to go there again!

  Grand Balcon Apt's (Pretty Good)

  HiWe stayed across the road at Grand Balcon apt's this year & overall especially for half terms it was really good value for money. Our kids are 7 & 9 so the steep stairs weren't a problem, the view out the lounge of the Chamonix valley was amazing.I big tip for anyone to make this work, pay 35EUR for a ski locker at the lifts, perfect no carrying skis in my case all of them! 5 minute walk, ski's on & up the lift.In Jan you can book for £300 for the apt, so really good, wouldn't go at half term again as it was to busy & ski school classes had 15 in but they still did a great job & were very friendly. Please take note of the ski lockers!! you can book them at the lift pass counter,

  worst place we have ever stayed

  I cried when I saw our room. With 2 young children we paid extra for a large 3 roomed apartment. We got one room with a mezzanine at top of an extremely steep open staircase. very dangerous, totally unsuitable for young children. Once they had gone to bed we had to sit in dark as the light was for the whole apartment as there were no 'extra' rooms as paid for. Staff extremely unfriendly, uncaring and unprepared to do anything to resolve. View from window was back of buildings (so much for the brochure description of Mt Blanc!!). No parking onsite - we had to carry our 1 year old 900m to local car park every time we went out. Pool was dirty and hot tub never worked for our stay. Internet access charged at a ridiculous rate - even McDonalds provides this for free!!. Avoid at all cost. Les Houches is fabulous, just get decent accommodation - not this one!

  We were overcharged and the manager was rude and intrusive. The rooms need to be renovated. We had to supply our own towels and sleeping materials after paying a small fortune to stay in our rooms. I am confused how the manager got away with charging so much money. I would suggest staying somewhere else if going to this part of France!
