  Every year we visit Megève for its excellent skiing and, since the opening of your establishment, we have regularly come for your chocolate. However, this time we were disappointed by the changes in the layout of the space. The unsuitable tables placed in front of the beautiful wooden display, as well as the misplaced stools under the elegant antique oval table, clearly damage the atmosphere. Despite this, we sat down with positive expectations, hoping to enjoy our usual hot chocolate. From the beginning, several issues became apparent. There were no napkins on the table and the container was empty. After our order was taken, the tableware brought was less complete than in previous years. The whipped cream had not been served at all, and one of the bowls clearly contained leftovers from a previous use. During service, the waitress spilled hot chocolate on the table. She left to get a cloth and returned with one that was already dirty. In the meantime, the whipped cream had been forgotten. When she finally returned to refill the small bowls, no spoons had been brought, leaving us unable to taste the chocolate. We asked for spoons and were told they were being looked for, as if none were available. We were then forgotten while other tables were served. We eventually had to stand up and ask for them at the counter. The staff member handed them to us after taking them from a shelf at the back. There were plenty of spoons, yet they were given to us directly by hand, without any napkin or protection. After all this, when we were finally able to drink the chocolate, it was no longer hot. At the same time, there was overcrowding at the cashier, and another waiter came to our table twice with the wrong order. Is this really the level of service expected from a five-star hotel? No enjoyment at all. Overrated. Nothing was worth it, and €16 for this chocolate? Each year, it gets worse.   Beautiful Hotel

  5 night stay in this Wonderful Hotel. Fantastic location. Rooms were lovely. Got to enjoy the spa area every day after skiing which was impeccably clean and a real bonus to have this facility.Breakfast - food and service were great. Went for the famous tick tock hot chocolate in the afternoon at the Hotel’s restaurant, I can confirm it’s amazing. The rooftop bar is beautifully decorated and has a wonderful atmosphereThe staff at the hotel were extremely professional, polite and helpful. The level of customer service was superb. Really enjoyed the little gifts left in our room every evening by housekeeping. The Hotel drivers who did our transfer to and from the ski slopes were very professional and really friendly. 100% recommend staying in this beautiful hotel.   Chalet Accommodation

  It was the second time we stayed at one of the chalets of Soleil D’Or . We chose it because of its wonderful location and our last year’s positive experience. The chalet itself is really nice and very welcoming for families and groups of friends. It has all the features of a five star chalet but it’s lacking some details that would make it perfect (for example, why put fake candles in all the chalet of none of them have batteries ?!🤷‍♀️ Or not put soap in the bathrooms ‘because there is shower gel anyway’ ) I am sad to say that, compared to last year, the services were worst. It felt like a general sense of confusion, poor communication and lack of professionalism. When we booked the chalet, no one informed us that one of the bathrooms in the vila was completely non functional and under renovation. They offered to finish renovation while we were there … which we obviously refused . Also, there was much confusion about the breakfast in the vila and we were told to cook our own eggs so that they don’t get cold by the time room service will bring them to the chalet.The hotel shuttle cannot be booked in advance and it took some time until someone properly explained to us how it works , which was finally ok. The only faultless services were the ones offered by the hotel SPA , which we enjoyed every day during our stay.

  Nice Hotel but Not a 5 Star Experience

  The hotel room and grounds are very nice and spacious. We liked the spa and the jacuzzi was hotter than many in other Alpine resorts. The rooms were very clean.The concierge service was not at all worthy of a 5 star hotel. I’ve skied France before and we were in Paris a week before we stayed here. The service was exceptionally underwhelming. The employees were just young and inexperienced with luxury travel. We stayed the first week of January so maybe their “a team” was taking time off.-The staff in the lobby barely stopped their conversations with one another to greet us “bonjour” when we walked in. -I asked for assistance in getting to the lift. The girl at the desk literally rolled her eyes and told me it was a 5 minute walk. I stay at resorts in the Alps every year. Every other place I go they help with a map and directions. - My husband asked for water 3 times at breakfast before getting a glass-The ski room lock never seemed to work and open up (small I know but after lugging your skis around you don’t want to have to walk around the entire building on ice to get someone to open the door for you)-We were at a Michelin dinner and asked our waiter to call the complementary vehicle to pick us up at 10:30 PM. The hotel told him it ended at 10 PM despite telling us twice it ended at 11. The hotel the restaurant was in ended up driving us home. We will stay there next time…

  Perfect from start to finish

  Stayed here for 3 nights in a suite on the 2nd floor. Even before we arrived I had a feeling things would be good. We were contacted about lift passes, restaurants etc, which the hotel booked and organised, so we picked passes up from reception, making life very easy. We arrived and the welcome was very warm, the decor is beautiful and we were able to get into our room early which was stunning. Beautiful soft furnishings, divine bed, coffee machine etc etc everything you would expect from a 5 star with the addition of fabulous turn down with fresh delights every morning and night. Breakfast was lovely, spa was a wonderful spot at the end of the day and roof top bar really special. The service was thing that sets this hotels apart. Everything was anticipated and they couldn’t do enough for you. Dropping us off at lifts, picking us up, taking skis back for us all provided without needing to ask. We had such a wonderful time, would highly recommend and we will be back.
