Very enjoyable stay with welcoming staff, lovely food and easy assess to the ski slopes

    rating11 Mar 2026

We had a very enjoyable stay at Le Grand Aigle Hotel. The staff were welcoming, spoke good English, and were happy to help us improve our limited French! The room was clean and of a good size, with good views towards the slopes. The breakfasts and half-board dinners in the restaurant were good, although slightly limited with no choice of starters or desserts for dinner and only two choices for the main; nonetheless, the food was very tasty and we didn't feel the need to switch to the a la carte menu. The boot room had individual lockers for each room, and it was wonderful to have the skis and boots delivered from the hire shop recommended by the hotel. The piste down to the lift was easily accessible, with a short walk across the car park. The hotel was located near the old part of the town, which we enjoyed, and it was a short walk down the hill to the newer part. We would definitely come back to this hotel if returning to this resort. direction Grand Aigle, General Manager at Le Grand Aigle, Friendly Hotel, responded to this review Dear RedKiteCambs, A huge thank you for your detailed and kind feedback. We are delighted to read that you had a very pleasant stay with us and that you appreciated the warm welcome from our team. We are particularly touched that you highlighted their helpfulness and assistance in practicing your French.Regarding the half-board option, we do indeed offer a set menu with a starter, a limited selection of main courses, and a dessert, designed to guarantee freshness and quality. We understand that this might seem unusual, but we are delighted that the food was delicious and that you fully enjoyed it.It is also a pleasure to know that you found the ski storage convenient and the rental service provided by our partner easy to use.We sincerely thank you for your recommendation and would be delighted to welcome you back for your next stay in the resort.Sincerely,The Reception Team
