About Les Fermes De SamoensAbout Les Fermes De Samoens

Location

Located between Geneva and Chamonix in the Haut Giffre valley, Samoens (altitude 700 m) is a village typical of Haute-Savoie, classified by the Monuments Historiques for its beautifully preserved architecture and history. A genuine mountain village of chocolate box chalets and magnificent scenery, Samoens is centred around its 11th century church, with its shady square and covered market halls that come alive every Wednesday. Samoens is in the heart of the Grand Massif domain and the recent addition of a gondola from the village to Samoens 1600 means that 265 km of ski runs are just 8 minutes away.

    Great stay in Samoens!

    rating24 Jan 2025

We rented a one bedroom apartment. It was warm, spacious, quiet and had everything we needed.Comfortable bed/pillows and a hot shower. Individual boot room per apartment, dryed everything perfectly for the next days skiing. Bread and pastries to order and delivered daily to reception (except Saturdays) Staff extremely friendly and helpful! 10/10 thank you! Bus stop to the lifts is a stones throw away, 10 minutes to Vercland (best bubble, fast) and a further 5 minutes to Grand massif express (use Vercland) all things considered, great value for money. We will return! Lagrange Vacances, Service clients/Réception at Lagrange Vacances - Les Fermes de Samoens, responded to this review Bonjour, Nous vous remercions d'avoir partagé votre avis. Very strange place

    rating18 Mar 2022

Overpriced for what it is. All very strange, have to make your own bed upon arrival and clean the apartment yourself or book a cleaner at the end of your stay for extra. Everything in this place costs extra. The fact that you have to pay for wifi in 2022 is an absolute cash grab. You can check in from 2pm but you can’t actually get your keys until 5pm which makes no sense. The member of staff who checked us in was quite rude, favouring to talk to French guests first even though we were there first and then answering the phone when we were in the middle of checking in. We had to pay €400 euro deposit which is a ridiculous amount of money considering the furniture is all so old and could probably do with being replaced anyway! Our apartment was relatively clean but the walls are covered in weird marks and there are cobwebs. They don’t provide you with any cleaning products so you have to buy a full pack of dishwasher tablets, toilet cleaner etc yourself which is just wasteful as I won’t be taking them back in my suitcase. Location is alright, a bit out of the way but we walked 15 minutes to the Grand Massif Express chairlift everyday. There is also a bus stop for the ski bus right outside. Lasting impression is that it’s incredibly overpriced for what it is. There are so many other options in Samoens. I would not stay here again.

    Should not expect too much

    rating23 Mar 2020

Lcated far from cable car, need to take your car or use the bus. Furniture quite old. Small pool and sauna, always full and need to pay for it extra. Overpriced for the conditions. Staff not very friendly, reception assured only a few hours.

    Crappy hotel !

    rating11 Mar 2020

First of all, this should not be under the category Hotel it is actually a Hostel. You are welcomed by the most unfriendly staff that should not be in the industry. Once in the room you get a package with linen and are expected to make your own "beds" which are actually a bunk-bed and/or and fold out sofa. Cleaning standard is under acceptable level, with dust everywhere. Broken furniture, holes in the wall, mould in the shower... Fresh! If going to the lovely town of Samoens, chose a different place to stay than the Faulty Towers of France, the Lagrange Vacances....

    Ski Hokiday

    rating02 Mar 2020

Excellent accommodation, close to ski bus stop and ideal for the town. If you want a ski-in ski-out holiday this won’t be for you as you need to get the gondola up every day to get to the snow. We where there over February half-term and the morning quays where a frustration as well as the over crowding on some of the slops. Choke points developed on some runs in the afternoon as skiers returned to the main lift to get back down the mountain and it was carnage. When the lift across to Flaine was open the skiing experience Improved dramatically, more runs and more space.
