    Tired, and needs management attention!

    rating07 Sept 2025

I wish I could rate this place higher, as we didn’t have a bad stay over all. However I think unfortunately many of the previous reviews we have read are correct . The room we were given was pleasant enough, small and snug but not bad for what we paid for it. The staff (aside from at the pool) were all pleasant and smiling). But the rooms are tired, we found strange hairs in the room, beds we had to make ourselves (!?) bins we had to take out ourselves etc… and the previous tenants dirty laundry outside of our room when we entered and WAY TOO MANY keys for the parking , room, pool etc. I mean come on, it’s a weekend holiday we had , not buying the flat. Get one room card etc that works for all. Also… not practical with a baby push chair and luggage we found, made the check in and check out process pretty uncomfortable. Above said, the village has all you need, the views are spectacular and the pool was well run / clean. It’s ok. Restaurants on site were great. I’d consider returning (even off season) if they made it a bit easier for us as a family…! Guest Relation, Owner at Hotel de l'Esterel Pierre & Vacances, responded to this review Thanks for sharing your honest feedback. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the views, the well-run and clean pool, the on-site restaurants, and that most of our staff made you feel welcome. We’re sorry for the aspects that made your stay less comfortable, from the tired feel of the room and cleanliness issues, to the multiple keys, and the challenges with check-in/check-out when travelling with a pushchair and luggage. We understand how these things can impact your experience, and we’ll share your suggestions with the team, especially around simplifying access and improving convenience for families. We appreciate that you’d consider returning, and we hope next time we can make your stay smoother and even more enjoyable. The Pierre & Vacances Team

    Unsafe for women, false location

    rating13 Jun 2025

The location on the website is a scam. It’s not beach front and it’s not near the train. They’re lying about the hotel location to charge beachfront prices. The booking is fraud and I was just stuck with all my stuff walking around trying to find the real hotel. The actual location listed on their website is a rock. Finally I met a couple who knew because they had the same experience. The customer service pretended like this had never happened before even though the couple said they also complained because they were stuck in the dark in the middle of nowhere without any service until someone picked them up. Lying to your face while you’re showing them the proof on your own website is insane work. I don’t understand the logic of this. Like, I’m going to find out when I go to the hotel and it’s not there or near the beach or the location listed. Due to this situation, I HIGHLY discourage woman from booking this as you will be dependent on the kindness of strangers and that’s incredibly unsafe because you are very remote and service isn’t good. Guest Relation, Owner at Hotel de l'Esterel Pierre & Vacances, responded to this review Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand how critical accurate location details are when booking accommodations, and we are investigating this matter urgently to ensure the information on our website is corrected and transparent. It is deeply concerning to hear that our customer service did not address your concerns appropriately, and we will review this internally to ensure such situations are handled with greater care and honesty in the future.Your feedback is invaluable, and we take your comments very seriously. We regret that this experience has left you feeling unsafe and disappointed, and we will work to ensure no guest faces such a situation again.Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we hope to have the opportunity to regain your trust in the future. The Pierre & Vacances Team

    Boring and disappointing

    rating06 Sept 2022

We booked 4 night in Hotel de l'Esterel Pierre & Vacances based on location and description on Pierre & Vacances website.Hotel is located in Pierre & Vacances Vacances Cap Esterel estate. In my opinion, location is really nice and it present nice view.Hotel is 3 stars, but cleanliness if it doesn't fit 3 starts hotel. Just after entry to our room, we found empty bottle of anti-mosquito repellent under our bed. Air conditioning was quite poor and corridor at front of our room was always dirty. The biggest disappointment was breakfast which we bought with room - day by day exactly time same food. Almost same as in 1 start hotels like F1 or Ibis Budget where night cost 60 euro (Hotel de l'Esterel advertisement at entry said 301 euro per night). This is serious rip-off and after 2 day, I really had enough of it but in whole Pierre & Vacances Vacances Cap Esterel estate there is no many places where you can eat breakfast. There is no much places to eat lunch or dinner as well (3,4 tinny restaurants which servers this same food). On the Pierre & Vacances website, it shows multiple evening events which happening in this place, but when we where there, nothing was happened expect "Just Dance" application was played on the big screen. Total boring and disappointment. We are travelling a lot each year, but comparing price to value, this was the worsted place which we visited and will never back again.

    An amazing week!

    rating16 Jul 2021

We spent one full week in this hotel in June/July and took full advantage of many of the services offered. Reception at the hotel is super friendly (thank you Philippe!) and helpful. Our room had a big terrace (great for bike, golf clubs, drying towels...) but the room was a bit small, and the bathroom was tiny. However our view over the pools and the Mediterranean made up for this.Kids Club: this is run on a half-day basis, with different themes each session. Our son loved his time there doing the adventure, spy (twice!) and party themes. Golf: The 9 hole golf course is technical and hilly; a beautiful setting with amazing views. Prices are a bit high for 9 holes, but the convenience of having the course at our doorstep was worth it. Trapeze: A special thanks to Arthur, Fabien, Lillie, Theo and Maxence for a wonderful time learning new tricks and positions on the flying trapeze. The team is super friendly, professional and fun! I highly recommend the course (instead of the initiation). Pools are big enough to accommodate guests even in high season, however more controls would be helpful regarding guests 'reserving' pool chairs. Waterslide, wave pool and diving board were all much appreciated. We opted for no board, and were pleasantly surprised by the amount of restaurants available in front of the hotel (in the village). The hotel restaurant has a great view but we found the service to be very slow on the one evening we tried it. However the manager is very friendly and helpful. We look forward to our next visit to Cap Esterel!

Rip-off pure, small, loud and dirty

    rating16 Aug 2020

Since unfortunately Pierre&Vacances does not report via the complaint tool on their website, I try it here. We have booked a room with sea view, unfortunately we did not get a sea view but a pool view. There was nothing to see from the sea. At the arrival there was already strange hair everywhere, in the bathroom and on the beds. As the rooms are extremely loud and one has to wait until 2 o'clock in the morning until it is quiet, we changed the room, as we had no sea view anyway. The rooms are newly renovated but extremely small, only 1 person fits into the bathroom. As we did not have a room with sea view I wanted to get my money back for the extra charge, but this was not taken into consideration. That means I was really cheated. 2 times the room was not cleaned, although we even reported it to the reception. The balcony was also not cleaned the whole week. The pool area is a joke, a sun bed costs 12 Euro per day! I have never booked a hotel where I had to pay for a couch at the pool. This is an absolute impudence. This is why we always decided to go to the sea.If you contact Pierre&Vacances directly via their complaint tool, you can't expect an answer, complaints will be ignored.
