    Plastic floral arrangements on each dining room table may sum up the place. Beautiful dining room but minimalist breakfast buffet and similar service. Clearly this rather unique hotel and setting with a pool and a spa would benefit by training (weekend) staff to improve the customer service and personal touch. A curious automatic light switch for the toilet in the room (not ideal if the other perosn is asleep) and industrial toilet paper dispenser. Curious for a 4 star establishment. Some days soap and biscuits in room other days none. e10 charge for guest to use the unsupervised jacuzzi. The french word

    Our dinnerbooking was cancelled, but no one had told us, and we were informed about it when we asked what time we should eat. The reason was a wedding taking up all the Spaces in the restaurant. They handed us a sheet with restaurants nearby for us to choose between. After some discussion between the reception employess, they decided to contact the restaurant at the hotel, and they were able to find us a table after all. When we came to the restaurant we discovered that there were many people in the restaurant who had a table. It seemed that we were the only ones who had been “forgotten”, and that there were plenty of room in the restaurant. The food was acceptable, but not anything special.When we came down for breakfast there were no employees in sight, but we managed to find them in a nearby kitchen. At check out we were asked to pay a very high amount, and it turned out that the invoice was 150 euro higher that what was agrees. They changed it and apologized. No problem. Our stay showed a hotel that has lost control. A pity because the hotel building/rooms are nice.

    Wonderful. The place is very close to Grenoble but quiet, the rooms are Lovely, the pool is Great and the restaurant is tasty (the breakfast). A very Nice athmosphere. I had a Great akd relaxing stay.

    More of a corporate hotel, than a quiet spot to relax

    The pictures show an historic looking Chateau, with a Scenic back drop and looking calm and relaxing.It may well be that we had not investigated Grenoble sufficiently, but the castle is situated in an industrial area. On entering the grounds there are multiple aged signs advising clients to take valuables from their cars, which did not create a particular inviting or safe atmosphere.Our room was located in a modern conference block and it was clean, serviceable and had a comfortable bed. On entering the room there was a young man loitering in the corridor on a phone who seemed to be there for some time, which did create an unusual vibe for a hotelAll staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful For me more of an hotel for corporate travellers, than a quiet spot to relax

    A genuinely outstanding place to stay in classic old school French style…lovely.

    We stayed here on our way back north from the Mediterranean coast using the Route Napoléon. The route starts in Eybans. This hotel is the height of French experience and we loved it so much we stopped an extra night. Top classic cuisine, pool, great bedrooms, parking and delightful staff. The owner Guy is sixth generation in the same family and is a joy to do business with and deserves support. Don’t go if you want modern perfection, but if you want character, style, love, and very slight eccentricity, along with lovely accommodation and literally outstanding cuisine, then stop by ….if only we weren’t living 500 miles away.
