I find it very strange that a series of ultra-negative reviews, which are very close in terms of dates, seem to me to come from the same group settling scores. We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and had breakfast as well as dinner. For us, it was an excellent time. Regarding the room, we had a superior room and have no complaints, except that the mattress did not really suit my back. Regarding breakfast, for the price, I have no complaints there either. As for the restaurant, we had the 27€ menu the first day and the 29€ one the next day. Really very decent, hearty, and very well cooked. The staff was very professional and pleasant. The Hotel is located on the main avoiding road of la Mure, with plenty of free parking. But the town is only a 5 minutes walk away.The rooms are a bit dated, but clean. Be aware that the second floor rooms are in the attic with only small windows. Also there is no elevator.The staff is friendly and fluent in english, the on site restaurant serves country french cuisine, it is OK but will not get a Michelin award. Other restaurants are available in the town centre. The breakfast facilities and offering are a bit limited, the breakfast room can get crowded.

We slept for two nights in this hotel where the welcome was perfect We dined there both nights, excellent service (the servers were attentive and very professional) very good meal Good breakfast Very pleasant hotel Small downside!room 16 clean except for the bay window which had not been done for a long time inside and out and the balcony very very dirty, the outdoor table full of cigarette ash and spider webs at the bottom of the bay window and the floor not cleaned Too badWe will return because the whole experience is very satisfactory Originally submitted in French on www.tripadvisor.fr. Hotel is fine in itself, just a pity that the prices at the counter are much higher than if I had booked through Booking. Also a bad experience with a glass of macon wine with dinner. The card said it was for €6.90, but she charged 25 euros for that. This makes the value for money of this hotel insufficient. Bed and breakfast was good. We had a thoroughly enjoyable 5 day stay at Hotel Murtel. Without exception all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and comfortable and of adequate size. The restaurent was spacious and inviting, the menu extensive and the quality of the food was excellant. It would be difficult to find fault with this hotel.
