Good location and value for money

    rating17 Aug 2025

Hard to find a better location in Grenoble in terms of connectivity. Walking distance to rail and bus station for those who want to explore Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. A few steps away from tram station for those who want to explore the city. The hotel has two wings named after the rivers of Grenoble: Isere and Drake. Reception staff is kind and ready to help. The studio is trendy furbished and has a balcony. Large fridge, kettle and a kitchen with microwave oven and electric stove. The only downside was the drain of the bathroom sink. Direction Le HüB Grenoble, Directeur général at Le Hub - Privilodges - Grenoble, responded to this review Dear Jazzumbo, Thanks a lot for leaving a comment about your stay. We are glad that you enjoyed it and we hope to see you again at Le hub by Privilodges.Best regards

Extremely unsafe and dangerous. Terrible experience. I do not reccomend at all. Great location, quiet room and good sleep

    rating30 May 2025

Great location next to the train/bus terminal, as a base to explore the city, hike up the Bastille and some bus/day trips. Room was clean and quiet. The bar/restaurant was closed during my 3 nights stay, but the co-working space/lounge was open and nice.

Worst reception I had after traveling the world for my whole life

    rating05 Feb 2025

I have never experienced such rough and impolite service before. Leaving aside the fact that the reception closes at 21:30, which is unusually early, when you pay €42 for a bed in a shared room and €14 extra for breakfast, you don’t expect to be treated like rubbish. Not that it should happen in a cheaper place either, but at least it would be less shocking. The receptionist was, by far, the worst interaction I’ve ever had in any hostel or hotel. She was already arrogant and uncooperative over the phone, clearly trying to hang up as quickly as possible. When I faced an issue with my booking—where my card was unexpectedly declined after initially being accepted—she was impatient and dismissive. Instead of listening to my explanation, she kept repeating in the worst tone to "accept the payment authorization request," even though there was no request on my phone, email, or Booking.com profile. When I tried to clarify, she hung up on me mid-conversation.On my way to the hostel, I called again to inform her I would be arriving in a few minutes and to try to ensure my booking was still valid. She remained dry and unhelpful, then abruptly hung up on me again. When I arrived, the door was locked, and instead of coming downstairs to assist, she just gestured at me from behind the window, as if expecting me to open the door myself—despite it being locked from the inside. After a few minutes, she simply walked away, leaving me outside. Luckily, another guest came down and let me in.Once at the front desk, her rude and condescending attitude continued. She kept insisting that I "accept the payment authorization," but when I asked where to find it, she failed to explain clearly. Eventually, I realized she meant she would process it directly on the card terminal—but she never communicated this properly. To make matters worse, she hadn’t even initiated the payment on the machine yet, making it impossible for me to do anything. Neither of us are native French speakers, but that was never the real issue—the real problem was her sheer arrogance and lack of customer service skills. She then had the audacity to tell me that I should be grateful to her, saying that if it weren’t for her, I would be sleeping on the street—even though the website clearly states that reception is open until 21:30, and I had arrived at 21:05. She also made several rude remarks, including:"Luckily, you’re only staying one night and leaving tomorrow—that’s good."I was astonished by this level of unprofessionalism. As someone who works in the hospitality industry myself, I understand that finding good staff can be difficult, but this kind of behavior is completely unacceptable. A front desk employee, especially in hospitality, should not be so aggressive, dismissive, and unwilling to assist guests.Unfortunately, the poor service didn’t stop there. She initially charged me €30 and €42, then retracted the €30 a few minutes later, claiming it was just an authorization. However, the next day, she charged me €42 twice, forcing me to return to reception after checkout to have the duplicate charge corrected.I’m honestly shocked by this experience. The hostel itself seems nice, but it’s a shame that guests have to deal with such an unprofessional and unpleasant staff member. Direction Le HüB Grenoble, Directeur général at Le Hub - Privilodges - Grenoble, responded to this review Dear guest,We take all reviews into consideration, but it is always more constructive to exchange with an identified guest in order to provide a precise and appropriate response. Nevertheless, we are sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. From your comment, it seems that there was a misunderstanding with our receptionist, possibly due to a language barrier. We always do our best to provide a smooth service despite these potential communication challenges. Please note that we tried to contact you multiple times, both by phone and message, to inform you of our check-in procedures and reception hours. As stated in our communications, our reception closes at 8:00 PM on weekends, which may explain the situation you encountered. We remain at your disposal should you wish to discuss this further.Best regards,

    Horrible

    rating27 Aug 2024

Very, very bad service. The first day I arrived, the receptionist was super serious, she never told me anything about the place, she just gave me the key to the room. When I went to the room I realized that the bed was dirty, blood stains on the mattress, pieces of potatoes, packages of candy, the bathroom door fell and did not close, I had to use a lot of force to close it, and in addition to the shower, the drain was bad, the sink was clogged, everything smelled bad. The last day I went to the restaurant to have a coffee and the person who attended me I greeted twice and she did not greet me, they charged me 2 euros for a super small and poorly prepared coffee. Do not come here ever, believe me! Direction Le HüB Grenoble, Directeur général at Le Hub - Privilodges - Grenoble, responded to this review Dear Laura, We are very sorry that you did not enjoyed your stay.As we change all the reception team since yout stay, I can assure you that you will a much warmer welcome if you come back at Le hub by Privilodges. Concerning the cleaning a meeting was done with the cleaning company and that point also is so much better now. Finally for the person at the restaurant, she is an autist and sometimes it is difficult for her to understand social interactions. We understand that it can be frustrating and we work everyday to help this person improve this skill. We hope to see you again at Le Hub by Privilodges.La Hub Team
