A cool reception when we arrived, but the hotel was clean. The pool and pool area are kept clean and the breakfasts are very good indeed, with plenty of choice. The hotel demanded 200€ deposit in case of damage, which they said would be refunded when we left and the room had been checked. I paid this with my UK debit card. The money was debited straight away. After two days I had still not received the money back, so I rang the hotel, who told me that because it was a UK card, I would have to wait a month. I stayed polite but was really put out with their pathetic excuses, and this left a very sour taste in my mouth. Having contacted the bank, they told me that I would have the money back within a week, which I did, but beware! Stephane Heraudeau, Propriétaire at Les Vignes De La Chapelle, The Originals Relais, responded to this review Dear Sir,Thank you for sharing your impressions following your stay at Les Vignes de la Chapelle. We are delighted that you appreciated the cleanliness of our hotel and the tranquillity of our pool area. We are particularly touched by your compliments about the breakfast. We are committed to offering a generous and varied buffet, with good local produce, so that your days on the Île de Ré get off to the best possible start. We have carefully read your comment about your arrival. Hospitality is one of our priorities, and we are sorry that your first impression did not reflect the friendliness we strive to offer our guests.Regarding the deposit, this is a bank pre-authorisation, as is common practice in many hotels. We release the funds as soon as you leave. The processing time for this amount to reappear in your account may vary depending on your bank, particularly with foreign cards, which is beyond our control. We hope you will have fond memories of your relaxing stay in the heart of our beautiful island.Élodie - Quality Service+33 5 46 30 20 30

Very nice hotel, just mind the extras
10 Sept 2024
The hotel is excellently located, on the quiet side of a quiet town next to a vineyard. The rooms are large (duplex) , well appointed and clean. All the amenities gave a well maintained impression. Only real gripe was the extra cost for parking: €15 per day or €40 per day for a space next to a charger. That seemed extortionate, especially since you can just park in front. Stephane Heraudeau, Propriétaire at Les Vignes De La Chapelle, The Originals Relais, responded to this review Dear Sir,Thank you very much for staying at our hotel in Rete and for giving us this perfect score. As you point out, our spacious, comfortable rooms have been designed to offer you a cosy, welcoming cocoon after a fine day out walking the island's trails.Parking is available at an additional cost of 15 euros (40 euros for a space with a charging point, which is modest compared with the high cost of charging a Tesla, which is much more than the 25 euro difference), as in most of the island's establishments. It has the advantage of being private and secured by a digicode, and we remain convinced that this offer remains a real advantage and contributes to a serene stay. We hope that you will choose to return to Les Vignes de la Chapelle to fully enjoy the authentic charm of our beautiful region.ÉlodieQuality Service+33 5 46 30 20 30

A little paradise!
19 Aug 2024
We (me, my wife and my two 15 year old twins) stayed in this nice boutique hotel for 2 weeks in August 2024. For us, it was an ideal location in Set Marie de Ré with nice rooms and a very friendly team. We rented bikes directly at the hotel and took the upgrade to have a little kitchen area for dinner independence. Sure, there are very nice restaurants on the island, but the evenings on our terrace were best! We will come here again! Stephane Heraudeau, Propriétaire at Les Vignes De La Chapelle, The Originals Relais, responded to this review Dear guest,It gives us great pleasure to read your wonderful review! You have appreciated the advantages of our location in the heart of Sainte-Marie-de-Ré, close to all amenities while enjoying a peaceful setting surrounded by vineyards. Our team is delighted to have contributed to the success of your holiday with their warm welcome. It's also good to know that our rooms met your expectations and that you particularly liked the kitchenette, which allowed you to prepare a few meals on your own. As you mentioned, nothing beats those wonderful moments of conviviality on the private terrace after a beautiful day cycling the island's trails!Thank you for highlighting the quality of our services. Our aim is to make every stay a moment of well-being and change of scenery in the heart of the gentle Retais countryside.Your loyalty means a lot to us and we look forward to welcoming you back!ÉlodieQuality Service+33 5 46 30 20 30
