  Shame about the bed

  Good size accommodation spoiled by a poor bed quality which gave little sleep. Avoid room 19 . Everything else was fine staff cleanliness all very good parking excellent. Also felt the deposit for the room was unnecessary (150euros) as they already had my full address and card details. Yea/ coffee cups in the room too small. Take your own plates cutlery if staying longer than one night.   Very very poor experience and not value for money

  This is a 2 star motel. It is NOT a hotel. Staff were incredibly lazy and very unhelpful. They don’t care about their guests. Hotel area and reception desk closed from 12 until 2pm everyday so you had to move out of the indoor area as they locked up the hotel. We arrived at 11am as we had an early flight with our 3 kids and were told we couldn’t check in until 4pm. When our room was eventually ready, the staff would not even bring our bags to the room for us. We had 6 bags!!! I asked could they help and they said “we do not have enough staff”!!! The room was so basic. The cupboards were all locked and there was no key. We have a 2 year old baby and they charged us €2 twice for some milk for her small milk bottle. The room cost €280 per night. Breakfast was NOT included which is a joke. We had to play an extra €50 for breakfast. We are a family of 5. At breakfast when we asked for more food, they laughed at us as if we were eating too much and it was a hassle for them. At 10:30am while we were still eating our breakfast at the breakfast table, they told us we had to check out immediately as check out was at 10:30am. An absolute rip off! Check in at 4pm and check out at 10:30am! €330 for 20.5 hours. I asked a waiter if he could help order us a taxi and he said “No”. I told him the service in the hotel was very bad and he got aggressive and again refused to help order us a taxi to our next destination where we would be staying for 3 weeks. He would not help. Eventually the manager arranged a taxi. The pool area is nice but I would stay somewhere else. This is our 5th time visiting ile de re. We come for 3 weeks every summer. A new owner with attentive staff could make this place a much better place. I would NOT recommend hotel de re to anyone. However, we would like to clarify certain important points concerning your stay, starting with your unacceptable behaviour, which was immediately reported to your travel agent. I myself attended your departure and I would like to congratulate the members of my team who kept their composure and remained courteous despite the disrespectful way in which you behaved towards them.You arrived at 9.30am when rooms are only available from 4pm, and were surprised that we didn't have a porter.The next morning, you arrived late for breakfast and asked to be served anyway, even though the buffet was closing.Similarly, rooms must be vacated between 8am and 10.30am, and we had to remind you of this rule because you had gone well beyond the scheduled check-out time.What's more, when there was none available, you asked for our help in finding a taxi, a request to which the manager devoted a lot of time, to the detriment of the other families present. You finally left the hotel at 1pm, well after reception had closed between 12pm and 2pm.In short, you spoke loudly all the time, which annoyed the other guests, and your constant demand for attention greatly disrupted the service intended for the others.I hope that in the future you will find a place to stay that will meet your requirements, which in no way correspond to those of a 3-star hotel.Stéphane HERAUDEAU, Owner and General Manager
