    Not central

    rating17 Nov 2025

It’s about a 30 minute walk from the Eurostar terminal and a similar walk to the city centre, so not very useful for exploring Lille. There isn’t anywhere to eat nearby, except a grim looking restaurant/bar and nobody seemed to eat at the hotel while we stayed. Breakfast was popular, I’m not sure why as it was €13 per person and looked very average. Bedrooms overlook a major road, so you can’t open the windows. Security is zero as you can walk in and take the stairs or lift without the reception even seeing you. Staff were all very nice, but the hotel is very basic. We stayed in a ‘Superior’ room, so I can’t imagine how unimpressive the standard rooms are. There is no booklet in the room to outline the hotel facilities or local amenities, no phone to call reception and no milk for the tea/coffee maker. It’s a 5-10 minute walk to the nearest metro station (unmanned) past bleak flats (where we saw a kid kick a door in) past a plethora of disturbed people begging. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for, so pay a bit more and stay in the centre of the city and not on the crust outskirts Magali Carrio, General Manager at B&B HOTEL Lille Centre Grand Palais 3 etoiles, responded to this review Dear Guest,We are sorry that the hotel's location was not to your liking. However, our location is accurately described on various booking websites. We are located in the center of Lille, but not in the very heart of the city.We regret that the breakfast and the room did not meet your expectations. Our hotel meets the criteria for a 3-star rating in France, and our services are generally well-regarded.There is indeed no brochure in the rooms, but instead a QR code providing information on the hotel's various services as well as activities in the surrounding area. It is in digital format to help meet environmental standards. We are surprised by your description of the area surrounding the hotel. We are located in an eco-designed neighborhood. However, if some people lack civility or are unfortunately homeless, there is nothing we can do about it. Lille remains a major city.I am available should you wish to discuss your stay further.Sincerely,

Decent Experience before leaving from France.

Perfect spot to get to Calais. We stayed here the night before we left from France. It took 1.5 hrs to get to Calais. It was a bit tricky to find this location on Waze. It could be because we were first time visit. But this hotel made us forget all the worries. We had to pay for parking.

Not bad hotel for couple nights

    rating05 Apr 2025

We stayed here for 2 nights back in September 2024.We arrived and check-in was easy and we managed to get to our room early. Rooms are very small but it's okay if you're there for a couple nights. The shower pressure isn't amazing but it's useable, the beds were comfy and the rooms are lovely and dark at night. Our only let down was our air con started leaking water on the floor one night and so we had to swap rooms in the night. The location is okay, we ended up using Ubers to get to the main city area as the walk was a little trek especially on an evening when it is dark. Magali Carrio, General Manager at B&B HOTEL Lille Centre Grand Palais 3 etoiles, responded to this review Hello,Thank you for your detailed review! We're delighted that you found our hotel suitable for a two-night stay in September 2024.We're glad that check-in was smooth and that you were able to access your room earlier than expected. We've taken note of your comment regarding the room size. We're sorry to hear about the air conditioning leak and thank you for your understanding regarding this inconvenience, which forced you to change rooms.Regarding the location, we're about a 20-minute walk from the city center, but it's true that using Uber can be more convenient, especially in the evening. We look forward to welcoming you back on your next stay in Lille!Have a nice day,Laura

    Brilliant Lille Stay

    rating12 Jan 2025

We took advantage of Eurostars 30th birthday offers and booked our travel from London to Lille and hotel for £150 each! Upon arrival at Lille Europe it was about a 15 minute walk to the hotel which took a little longer due to the weather. It’s only 2 stops on the Metro and takes a minute or two and a few minutes walk which we later found out!!The hotel is off the main road in a residential/commercial area and we never felt unsafe. There are quicker routes to the main road but these aren’t well lit, so if by yourself, as with anywhere, stick to the well lit roads. The hotel is well sign posted and is emblazoned with ‘hotel’ in huge letters on its front so is hard to miss. Upon arrival to a large and welcoming reception we were greeted by staff who were helpful and friendly. It’s manned 24hrs a day and they said to contact them for anything at any time. They will even lend you a phone charger, umbrella etc if you ask. Upon getting a PIN code for our room we used the lift to the room. The room was compact, but as with the rest of the hotel spotless. Besides our twin beds, we had numerous sockets, including USB, shelves, desk, large window and fantastic blackout curtains. The TV had a selection of local and international channels (including sports and movies!). The bathroom again was compact but clean with hair dryer, shower, sink and toilet. The AC/heating was quiet and worked! Around the corner is a great supermarket and a fantastic bar - it was reasonably priced and the food was great. The local train and bus station are only a few hundred metres away and bike and scooter hire are also available. We only had breakfast on the final day as we weren’t due to get the train till 4pm and as checkout isn’t till midday (!) thought this was a good way to kill time. The selection and quality was good but at 11 euros seemed quite pricey. I would highly recommend this hotel and Lille as a fantastic short break. One observation (none of which detracted from our stay):- Maybe offer at an additional daily charge tea and coffee making facilities in the room? I appreciate you have vending machines in reception, but it’s nice to get up and just pop the kettle on!All in all a brilliant stay and the staff are a credit to the hotel. Magali Carrio, General Manager at B&B HOTEL Lille Centre Grand Palais 3 etoiles, responded to this review Hello Roy,Thank you very much for your detailed and positive feedback about your stay at our hotel. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed our team’s warm welcome, the comfort of our rooms, as well as the cleanliness and facilities provided. We appreciate your suggestion regarding tea and coffee facilities in the rooms. For your information, we also offer "Plus" rooms, which are more spacious, better equipped, and include a courtesy tray for added convenience. It’s great to know that you made the most of our location and nearby amenities to explore Lille. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again on your next visit to the area.See you soon!Cyprien - Front Office Manager

Pizza and pot meals from on site concession an added bonus!

    rating25 Oct 2024

Fairly easy to find location in an office/industrial area approx. 10mins drive from central Lille. Great friendly welcome and Pizza and pot meals provided by onsite concession along with a small bar an added bonus after a late arrival, didn't have to go out searching for food.Secure parking garage available for additional charge, otherwise some free overnight parking in surrounding streets but paid during day.Rooms clean and standard B&B arrangement, although 2 single beds in family room here opposed to bunk beds as in other B&B hotels we stayed. Magali Carrio, General Manager at B&B HOTEL Lille Centre Grand Palais 3 etoiles, responded to this review Hello,Thank you for your feedback! We're glad you enjoyed the onsite food options and our clean rooms. Looking forward to welcoming you again!Cyprien - Front Office Manager
