This city hotel is one of the best addresses in northern France. It is in the heart of the city, just opposite the Opera House and the historic stock exchange. Lille Lesquin International Airport is approx. 11 km away.

    Great location - poor facilities

    Great location for a 4* hotel with easy access to the town, but sadly our experience inside was less than satisfactory. We stayed in room 108, described as a ‘Privilege Double Room’ and found that while it was larger than a regular double it was below ‘Privilege’ standard: it was a cold weather weekend in May & there was no room heating aside from a heated towel rail in the bathroom; the aircon/heating control panel was locked so unable to adjust room temperature; the shower cubicle had a hand held shower head so not possible to shower; the separately toilet was difficult yo say the least to enter having to contort around the basin to enter and then shut the door and the toilet wash-basin had just a single cold water tap. Breakfast was in the View restaurant which is really designed as a nightclub - very dark and slinky. Staff very pleasant but the whole hotel experience felt more 3* than 4*.

    Convenient, comfortable and charming base for exploring Lille!

    This was our first visit to Lille and we allocated two days at the tail end of of trip to southeastern France. We found Hotel Carlton through on line research. It was an ideal choice for my wife and I. In my wife's words, a "charming" hotel, within easy walking distance to the places you want to visit in Lille. Despite being in the middle of a very busy part of town, our room was extremely quiet. The room and furnishings were quite comfortable We interacted with several members of the staff and they couldn't have been more courteous and accommodating. English speakers, do not fear. We enjoyed breakfast on two mornings in The View bar and restaurant. The experience was superb. We also had drinks there before dinner one night. The View is an appropriate name. From your table, you can see many of beautiful, historic buildings of Lille and watch the world walk or cycle by. We would recommend Hotel Carlton and will stay there again if our travels take us through Lille in the future.

    Hotel was beautiful and clean and the location was superb. Staff very friendly. The only downside for us was that the aircon is centrally controlled so we could not cool down the room and it was exceptionally warm so could not sleep without window open which then let in all the noise from the busy square. The bed was very comfortable and the overall comfort of the room was welcoming. Beautiful high ceilings in the room with equally beautiful furnishing.

    A beautiful hotel in the centre of Lille, couldn't be better. Our room was clean and well presented. The breakfast was good and the staff were helpful. There was parking available, which in a central location was great. It was only an overnight stay, but we'd love to go back again for a longer stay. Great value for money.
