You get what you pay for

Hotel in a good location in Lille, walkable distance to the center and citadelle. You get what you pay for! £70 for a couple for one night, so if your looking for a place just to sleep, then worth it

    Rude receptionists.

    rating08 Dec 2025

05/12/25 Arrive at the hotel and greeted by two very rude reception staff. We prepaid for our parking ahead of our arrival so the first thing we enquired about was getting parked for the weekend. Immediately get told there is no parking, it’s full! After explaining we had prepaid we get told where the carpark is and that the gate “might” open. Carpark was probably half full and certainly not anywhere near full. Upon check in they had us down for just one room and not the two we booked. Had to argue and show our booking to prove we pre-booked two rooms. Because of this mistake on their part we were placed in what felt like emergency spare rooms on the ground floor. The entry door to one room didn’t work and the room could only be accessed via the other room, the same room with the in-operational door also the window could not be opened!! Would love to know the fire wardens stance of letting out rooms with doors and windows that do not work! We enquired at reception regarding the broken door and were simply told they don’t have code for it. Having not long fallen asleep, 01:30am Saturday morning the fire alarm is triggered! Unbelievably loud and being on the top bunk our daughter took the full brunt of the ear piercing siren. Hotel reception is now full of guests in nightwear! Receptionist with a beard and tied back hair simply assumed someone was smoking in the room and without proper checks simply disabled the alarm!!! Didn’t even go upstairs to check!! No evacuation, no roll call of guests, nothing!! This “false” alarm caused my children such distress and they just could not get back to sleep, around 03:00am they eventually settled and we got them to sleep. Tge lack of sleep completely ruined our day at Lille Christmas market. To top off our weekend, Sunday i get an email from the parking company stating the cameras did not detect us leaving the carpark and that i had over stayed past my 11:00am departure. We left at 10:40, 20 minutes early.

Great Location But Not a Great Experience

    rating02 Sept 2025

This hotel is perfectly located in terms of the main centre of Lille and close to the train station but my experience with this hotel wasn't great.I appreciate it is a budget hotel, but I had several issues with it. Firstly, when I checked into my room one the plug sockets had wires hanging out of it and when I opened the window one side of it collapsed. I wasn't happy with this, but I was then relocated to another room after speaking to the reception which was better apart from the portal fan didn't work and the room was very warm and had no air con. Because of the location there was a lot of noise from the main road at night, so it wasn't possible to leave the window open at night. The breakfast was very poor as well with limited choices and two of the days even though I wasn't going down last minute a lot of food items had gone too.At night there were some very unsavoury people hanging outside the hotel as well, up to what looked like some very dodgy activity. Each night when returning we had to work pass these people and they were shouting things which was slightly unsettling and disturbing.

Good location, but on a budget

    rating17 Aug 2025

Our first floor room was compact, clean and tidy, bathroom same. The breakfast was great value and plentiful. We struggled with the lack of A/C and that the window opened only slightly- but understandably for security reasons but this was during the 30c+ heatwave. There is a basement chargeable car park, beware its a very tight bend at the lower end of the ramp - ok with care. Its a shirt walk from the historic centre but you are literally 5 minutes from Rue de Gand with so many restaurants.

    Cheap and Cheerless

    rating13 Jul 2025

Hotel is in a decent position to walk to pretty much anything in the city. First impression is always with reception staff and the lady I dealt with was not very friendly at all, grumpy and terse and only as helpful as she had to be, so not a good start. Room was on the third floor and on the front of the building. I wasn;t there during the extreme heat luckily as there was no air con but there was a small fan. Room was neat and tidy, serviceable as you'd expect from a budget hotel. Room was very warm in the night, with window open I couldn't sleep due to the road noise, with window closed it was too hot, with fan on it was too noisy again! Breakfast room felt a little opressive, it was big and open just a bit depressing. The selection for breakfast was the usual pastries, cold meats, cereals, etc so no complaints there and there was even a lady cooking eggs to order. There was a vending machine and coffee maker in the reception area as no tea/coffee in the rooms but no kettle or machine for tea whisch was shown on the website. Overall it did the job, was an okay base to see a lovely city but not really a nice place to spend time apart from when needed. Aside from the road noise there were also a couple of sex workers outside the hotel most of the time, not a fault of the hotel but also something they shouldn't ignore. If I stayed again I would request a room at the back of the hotel, and if travelling in month when ut could be warm seeing if any of the rooms had air con before booking.
