  We used the bar area for a drink a couple of times during our Lille trip and were impressed with the service and friendliness of the staff as well as the ambience and late opening . the house wines were a reasonable price and quality and the waiter remembered our order the next evening

  Great stay for Rugby World Cup

  Stayed for 3 nights for the Rugby World Cup. The location is great, right across from the station. While the rooms are small and facilities basic, the bed was comfortable and the room clean so couldn’t ask more for the price we paid. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Would recommend eating in the restaurant below as the food is fantastic and reasonably priced.

  You don’t expect sewage in your room!

  Location was amazing with a pleasant welcome however our trip changed when we discovered that raw sewage was coming up through our shower tray. We informed staff of this who seemed very disinterested. This then gradually got worse before going across our floor, making the bathroom unusable. The sewage was then going through the ceiling to the floor below and eventually down a further floor to the restaurant. Even at this point the staff only said that they would ring ‘the big boss’. At no point did they seem apologetic towards us. We had to leave the room for the day and fortunately it had been repaired on our return minus the smell but not what you expect even from a budget hotel.

  The hotel is allright and the location is good. However, their manager (man with the earrings, piercings) is acting very unprofessional. When I checked in and asked him for a room with a batthub, he said something very inappropriate to me (that I can go in a batthub with him, he said it twice). I was traveling alone and he made me feel very unsafe. Luckily the staff was kind to me when I told them my experience on Booking.com. The hotel is allright, but because of the presence of the manager, I wouldn't book again.

  An absolute dump. Dirty walls, unclean floors, incompetent staff, this is one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. It’s dated and jaded in every corner. There’s not a good thing I can say about the hotel except it’s location but with that comes the incredible street noise that impacts on all floors. You can’t sleep with the windows open because of the noise. You can’t sleep with them shut because of the heat.
