Great Location!
09 Feb 2026
Citadines Lille was perfect for my last leg of my France trip. They were renovating the building and rooms when I was there, but only during the day, so did not effect me whatsoever. I stayed in a recently renovated room and it was perfect! Huge double studio room with kitchenette with all new appliances. Staff were amazing. Location was perfect, connected to the Westfield Shopping Centre right next door, walkable to main train station/Eurostar and walkable to the other main train station and city centre.

Thank goodness we are going today

Very convenient location. We expected it to be quite basic and impersonal, so not a surprise. What was a surprise was the extensive refurbishment works. If you’d told us we would have booked somewhere else. The noisy work starts at 8am and goes on until after 7pm. Both lifts are wadded out with plastic and constantly in use by workmen so you have to wait a long time for lifts. I’m in a moon boot so can’t do the 6 flights of stairs. And the hall is full of concrete rubble. Really unsatisfactory as an experience but the lack of communication is very poor. Timothé Rossat, Other at Citadines City Centre Lille, responded to this review Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad you appreciated our convenient location. Please note that information regarding the refurbishment works was communicated to all guests through the message system before arrival. We’re very sorry if this message was missed or not read. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the renovation noise, the lift delays, and the overall disruption during your stay.Your comments are extremely valuable to us, and we will work to improve both communication and guest comfort during this renovation period.

Building works ruined this stay.
08 Aug 2025
We arrived at midnight and were pleased with the hotel and location. We thought it was a bit strange that the lift was covered in protective covering. We were woken at 8am by horrendous drilling. A nice girl at reception was sympathetic and said we should have received an e-mail which we hadn’t. She moved our room. We packed everything up and went to the next room which was as bad. We had to carry all things back downstairs then to be given our third room - where we could still hear constant drilling.I looked on Booking.com and then booked direct with the hotel. There was no advice of building works on Booking.com or through the correspondence direct from the hotel nor on the hotel website. I would never have booked a hotel with building work. The builders are working directly in the hotel - using the lifts to carry up equipment hence them being covered up. We were advised that the builders work seven days a week and shouldn’t be before 9am - they were working at 8am both morning and still at 6:30pm.The manager accepted that we had not been told about building works. We asked for a partial refund but were refused and offered a free breakfast….not good enough. Timothé Rossat, Other at Citadines City Centre Lille, responded to this review Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.We sincerely apologise for the disturbances caused by the ongoing renovation works during your stay, and we fully understand your frustration, especially given the early start times and the impact on your rest.Regarding the use of lifts by the builders and the protective coverings, these measures are necessary for the safety and smooth operation of the works, which unfortunately unavoidably affect guest comfort at times. We appreciate your feedback about our offer of a complimentary breakfast and understand that it did not meet your expectations. While we cannot offer a refund in this case, please be assured that your comments have been taken seriously and shared with our management team to better handle such situations going forward. We hope you will consider giving us another chance in the future, once the renovations are completed, so we can provide you with the quality stay you deserve.

Nice apartment but stay ruined by renovation
08 Jul 2025
The apartment was well appointed but major renovation work was being carried out during our stay. We were subject to excessive concrete drilling noise and construction noise from check in for 3 hours. With this work the lifts were overtaken by the work access. The issue was no warning of the severe disruption li prior to stay or at check-in. An alternative room was not available and an unapologetic staff." Timothé Rossat, Other at Citadines City Centre Lille, responded to this review Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the disruption caused by the ongoing renovation work during your stay.We understand how the excessive noise, especially early in the day, and limited lift access significantly impacted your comfort. We regret that this was not communicated clearly to you prior to arrival or at check-in, and that we were unable to offer an alternative room at that time. Please be assured that your comments regarding the noise and our staff’s response have been taken seriously and will be addressed to improve our guest communication and service. We appreciate your understanding as we work to enhance our facilities, and we hope to welcome you back in the future under much better conditions.

Does what it says on the tin

Felt more of a basic low end 3 star but I guess the location trumps any negatives. Right near the stations (Flandres and Europe) and a short walk to the old town, shops, casino, cafes and restaurants walkways. Rooms are spacious but interiors are basic and on the cheap side. Expect mould in the bathrooms and chipped finishings. For a one night stay it did the job and was not expensive. Mathilde C, General Manager at Citadines City Centre Lille, responded to this review Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad to hear you appreciated our great location near the stations and within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and attractions. We also appreciate your comments regarding the rooms and the bathroom. We understand that some areas need attention, and we are currently planning a renovation to address these issues, including updating the interiors and improving the overall comfort of our rooms. We hope to welcome you back in the future and provide you with an even better experience.
