    Beautiful hotel with excellent amenities. The spa on the 4th floor offers an array of excellent services with a clean and welcoming aesthetic. Quentin provided a warm and welcoming service at the front desk. Top tip: request a room with a bath tub (it is like a small swimming pool)! Can’t wait to visit again soon

    We started the new year with a short 2 night stay at one of our favourite hotels. We got a very early morning Eurostar train to make the most of our stay and we were delighted to be able to check in early through paying for an upgraded room.We had treats in our room and a nice card, thanking us for our loyalty.On our last day, we paid to keep our room until 16.00 so we were able to again make the most of our stay.It’s so easy to stay here, given the proximity to Eurostar, and very reasonably priced.Highly recommended.     The response to my trip advisor review is a complete lie. No one in a management position spoke to us last night when we raised our concerns - we were NOT OFFERED ROOM SERVICE as an alternative - if we were??? Why would I have preferred a club sandwich in the bar?How can a five star hotel treat someone like you have? Even as David your respondent said we had booked the experience by mistake - if I had made a mistake then surely as the paying customer you would try to rectify that.I am appalled by both your treatment of us - and the lack of any one from management that could assist both last night and today. And how would we know who the entertainment was we left after 50 minutes.Shocking response and I travel the world regularly - I will be taking this up with my credit card company - your response to my concerns and your ability to lie publicly on how you didn’t respond is shocking. Although I pre paid should not mean I should accept what we were not offered.     Where do I even start… and we are still here, if we could have checked out I would have! But no management on site! . Having spent the most magical three days in Bruges … I decided this hotel we needed to see out a very stressful 2025 at - having stayed here in 2021 and had the most amazing dining experience in the first floor restaurant, surrounded by pink orchids , and the most amazing dessert theatre where they smashed meringue onto a sheet ….. that is the 540 euro one night experience I thought I was booking . And why wouldn’t I . They don’t serve dinner in there ground floor restaurant…. As it’s plastic seats and plastic tables and a weird orange half igloo …. Yep that’s where we were sat , in a sparkly dress; DJ and feeling like you are at a motorwayservices, with the addition of a tablecloth , no wine lists me looking at an orange wall , after 45 mins an oyster arrived no explanation just put in front of you.. really?… this is a five star hotel charging five star prices …. With a glass of wine that looks like your at a wedding !, but paid five star price. At this point we left !, felt sorry for the guy on reception with a blubbering English woman to deal with and no management present to assist.     A great 5-star hotel in Lille

    After finding that our original accommodation in Lille was very ordinary we sought to get a room at the Barriere. Given it was just two days until Christmas we were very lucky to get a Junior Suite for five nights. It goes without saying that the rates are quite expensive however the suite is superb. It is very large with a generous sitting area and large very comfortable king size bed. The bathroom is also very large with a bathtub, great shower, separate toilet and a make-up area. The housekeeping is of a high standard and despite a couple of minor hiccups our stay has been first-class and enjoyable. The hotel is not too far from the town centre and is a short walk to the Lille Europe train station for our next trip.
