    Too Expensive, Too Smelly.

    rating09 Oct 2023

Stayed for the Rugby World Cup 2023. Good location for the stadium but that is where the positives stop. Hotel was already overpriced at ~€220 a night but due to the Rugby we sucked that up. The room itself overlooked the stadium which was great for enjoying the ambience from the room but the room itself looked quite tired. Kitchen area was in need of some care, crockery/pans/cutlery needed washing prior to use (fairly common in apartment hotels but not acceptable given the price paid). Bed was fine and relatively comfy but the bathrooms were something else. I think we had been put in an accessible room as the separate toilet/shower rooms were large but very sparsely decorated. The toilet room was fine but had no soap dispenser in it which was odd. The shower room was a wet room with a single shower in it but the smell coming from the drain in this room was vile. It made the entire shower room smell to the point where it felt unhealthy to be in the room. The smell actually made you gag and one had to seriously consider if it was worth showering prior to entering the room. The smell from the shower room also leaked into the main room in wafts which gave the whole room an unpleasant smell. We spoke to reception about the smell and they knew it was an issue. The nice man at reception offered to knock off the price of breakfast which we didn’t have or move us to a worse room. We tried raising with reception earlier on in the day but it was closed and at that point we only had one night left so it wasn’t worth moving.I have raised this with their customer services team so let’s see where it gets me. We paid €449 for 2 nights which was already overpriced but I’m not sure any price would have been acceptable.

    Awful experience.

    rating24 Sept 2023

We stayed for 2 nights in September 23 for the rugby World Cup. Firstly as you enter the reception area, which is just a desk and a lift, the stench from the bin room was unbearable. To get to the room on the 6th floor we had to walk down a graffiti covered corridor (not sure if it's meant to be art?).The room itself was big enough but felt more like 'student digs' than a hotel room. The toilet was separate from the shower room & had no soap or towel rail, just a small sink with a towel actually in the sink. The shower head was floppy meaning it had to be held onto. But the worst part of it was, after paying €400 for 2 nights, the room was not cleaned! When we asked why the room wasn't cleaned, we were told they are only cleaned once a week! I have never experienced this in any hotel I've stayed in before and I'm shocked at the poor service.Needless to say I will never use tulip inns again.

    OK for a night

    rating02 Dec 2018

Me and my husband spend 1 night at the hotel, as we wanted to visit Lille and we didn't want to spend much money for our staying.PROS : 20 minutes from Lille's centre, very close to a huge shopping centre, clean room, comfy bed.CONS: Even though the room was clean, it was really smelly (as well as the rest of the hotel) and it didn't have good vibes. Also, the corridors were decorated with graffiti which we found atrocious, as it didn't look modern but rather kitsch. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel but we checked what was included and we weren't really satisfied with the selection and the price. The hotel is situated right next to the stadium, so even though we enjoyed a quite night, it is difficult for someone to rest during game hours. Last, the parking costs extra (10€ for a 24hrs ticket). The price was good but we would have preferred to pay more for something better.
