  Convenient budget hotel in Lyon Universite Neighboorhood

  Rooms with AC, lots to spread, perfect when traveling with a family. The hotel was clean and well located to discover Lyon. Many supermarkets nearby. Noise was good, the team placed us away from the elevator - THANK YOU!There's a washer/dryer - but I would suggest that you post a flyer for the English guests. The dryer worked poorly and the staff was unable to help with it. I came to the rescue of non-French travelers and we tried several things but the dryer never worked properly - That was several months ago, so hopefully it's fixed now :)!

  Good time in Lyon

  We had good time, the room was small but, there was a kitchen and we could even cook pasta and we had our hot breakfast in the room. Bertrand was very helpful, he assist us to room and unlock the kitchen and provided a heater, because the first night was cold. Staff specially Inga was great hep, everybody was very friendly and helpful

  Spacious but dated room, problem with showerhead provisionally repaired but difficult to manage. Hotel is in a busy university area, good public transport nearby and some reasonable restaurants as well. A bit anonymous hotel, hardly saw staff.

  This hotel was one of the worst I have ever stayed in. Before I get into specifics, the staff was great, very friendly and nice. I don't blame them for the state of the rooms. The first room we had was right on the street, first floor. It seemed ok at first, but it was so noisy and we were staying for 6 nights, I asked to change and they ended up finding a room later that day we could move to. The first room was ok, it seemed run down. The bedding and bed seemed new and the a/c worked, so I thought is was workable. After the noise and I moved to the next room, I had another awful room. There was a hole in the bathroom ceiling where there was a water leak. The full length mirror was cracked and I was worried I would hit it by accident and cause it to fall. There were just minor issues like wallpaper peeling and paint touch ups needed. I know this company recently bought this hotel, but they should not be open until the rooms were renovated. The rooms needed a total gutting and redoing. This is not at all the quality I was expecting when I booked. Also, we were told we needed the key to swipe to access the building, but that wasn't true. Anyone could enter at any time. I never felt safe there. The second room we had was way in the back, so I felt safer there, but I was very happy to leave when it was time to check out. So if you are staying here soon, I would advise to check and see if the rooms have been renovated before you book.   This hotel used to be Comfort Suites. The lobby was still under renovation when we were there. There is an underground parking garage but the parking is tight - small cars only. We walked to the old town the first day (25-30 minutes) but then we purchased the 24h transportation ticket and used the metro and the tram to get around. The Quai Claude Bernard tram stop is about 350m from the hotel. The room is of typical european size, furnishings newer. There was a small kitchenette area (frig, microwave). Bed was comfortable, shower worked fine. Reception desk was helpful and spoke english. No english tv channels. Wifi was good.Warning: watch out for pickpockets. We are experienced travellers and we were still robbed at the funicular in the old town.
