    Euro 2016

    rating29 Sept 2016

My friend and I used this as a base for Northern Ireland's adventure in a Euro 2016. The price attracted us to this hotel and many city hotels were too expensive. We found the hotel fine by taxi, taxi driver took us to etas units first but then realised our hotel was across the motorway.Bit of a problem getting in, we tried to open the door the. Realised we needed a code, the security guard who was a good guy tried to help us at the self service machine but our hotel reservation from Expedia had letters in it which could not be input. The security guard spoke little English I spoke little French so he rang head office and writhing five mins we had a code and room number. Room was very small, we thought we had booked a twin but it was a double. We just decided to deal with it as the double was quite large.Very little space to store clothes and bathroom very small.Tv and stations reasonable. The room was clean.Next day we were offered a move to a bigger room but it was still a double so we just left it. The cleaning staff were brilliant and you could not complain with the cleanliness. Did feel safe .Didn't eat breakfast in the hotel as we thought it was dear for a continental. A steakhouse, a fish restaurant and a KFC all in the same complex.Large indoor shopping complex one mile away easy walk but you would not do it at night.Small town just round the corner with Aldi, large Lidl and selection of kebab shops and bars. Lidl was great for breakfast croissants etcThe area although most people friendly it was a very diverse area and a few evenings we felt unsafe in the surrounding area. Syrian refugee beg around the flyover at the motorway all day. Would I stay here again? Yes but depends on what I was doing. If I came for a football trip again I would I. A heart beat however for a family trip to see Lyon I would say stay closer to the centre.Registered taxis dear. €30 from place bellecour. However uber taxis very good and only about €14. The number 12 bus leaves from across the road from Renault garage and goes to place bellecour. We used the bus most of the time including the late bus at 12. Bit scary at nights though to be honest. Alcohol may have helped ease our worries.Good bit out of Lyon and would not use for a city stay sightseeing but would use for a football trip stopover trip.Staff amazing especially the really beautiful girl who worked on reception. She asked for our Northern Ireland flags to put in the hotel.

    Classic bed & breakfast

    rating03 Dec 2015

Very essential as any B&B. I got a quadruple room and it was ok even if the smell in the room was not so pleasant (smoke in the tissues and no air change). Parking in the basement is recommended, breakfast in the average. WIFI ok, air conditioning OK
