  The hotel was satisfactory but that is all 1) The location is good for views over Lyon but you need to be aware it is up a steep hill ( which was ok for us and our daily dose of fitness but would not suit all)2) The parking is not necessarily free and we had to pay €18 per night to guarantee our space in advance as parking is limited ( large car parks are roughly €30 / night so still slightly better value)3) The hotel rooms are basic and ours was not clean . The safe was not working and despite staying 4 nights was not sorted during our stay. The toilet leaked.4) The housekeeping needs support - despite booking for 2 people there was only one towel and one extra pillow ( which was easily sorted but it would be nice to have had it sorted before we had to ask )5) The outside of the hotel is a public area and is not well kept6) poor weekend staff ( better during the week)Finally we came with friends and they left to find another hotel after one night - which says it allProbably will not be back Hotel- cmanager, Owner at Belambra City - Villemanzy, responded to this review Dear Guest, Thank you for your review of your recent stay,We regret that some aspects of your stay did not meet the standards you expected.   The location on the hill was a challenge with suitcases but the view made up for this. We could see Mont Blanc on a clear day.The room was basic but adequate. There was no housekeeping or air conditioning. We found the fan not really adequate but it was very hot while we stayed 30° +. The breakfast was disappointing and the fruit bowl had bruised, rotting fruit in it. We only had breakfast there once.Overall we thought the room was adequate for the price and we found a great Japanese restaurant near the centre. The staff were helpful.   Perfect for family city break

  Perfect for a budget city break. Great large rooms, lovely and clean. Very helpful staff. Very good buffet breakfast with lots of choices and variety. Short walk to Place des Terreaux but the hotel is at the top of a steep hill so not ideal for people who can't walk too far (especially in the heat). The lift at the hotel was not working and our room was on the 3rd floor so request a ground floor or 1st floor room if you struggle with stairs.   The Villemancy is a simple and no nonsense hotel that provides everything you need at a good price in a good location. A short walk from a metro stop and Croix Rousse as well as stunning views across the Rhone, Lyon and southeast to the Alps.   Good value accommodation with easy access to all that Lyon offers

  Large, spacious room with separate kitchen and walk in wardrobe. The bed was very comfortable. Parking was available at a reasonable daily rate (very few hotels offer parking). The reasonably priced buffet breakfast was replenished regularly with fresh food. The location offers great views over the city but is only a short walk downhill to the metro and city.
