Stayed here for one night. The public areas were nice. The room was an adequate size for one person. The bed was comfortable. There was a small desk and a wooden chair plus a kettle. There was a small bathroom with a bath and shower. We ate at the restaurant which was quite nice - there was a buffet and you could choose different combinations. The service was very good. Breakfast was good with plenty of choices. Friendly/polite staff - lady at reception speaks English, good menu & good prices.

Friendly staff, a couple of them can speak some English. I only stayed for dinner, waiter was friendly, menu in French - wasn't a problem , ordered draft beer and ' fish & chips with tartar sauce ' - wasn't of course the same as back home in the UK , wasn't too bad. Got a second draft beer while watching French football on the large flat screen in the restaurant. They offer a good choice of menus and the prices are reasonable. I hate trolls, this is not a troll. I am on the road almost daily. I like to get going and eat breakfast at about 10 am. I always have a take-away or buy on the route. I specifically asked the night before if I could have a take-away breakfast; I confirmed all I wanted was a Croissant & Pain A-Choc and a slice of cake (not even a drink). This was confirmed by reception. At breakfast I again asked the waiter – an Oui was received. I took one of each and placed into a serviette, about to leave my way was barred by the morning receptionist, with a loud English voice, for all in the restaurant to hear, “It is forbidden to take away, only eat here”. Explained the previously agreed conversations, they were dismissed as, “He does not have good English and they [reception] were wrong”. To cut a long story short, she would not allow the take away (despite showing her the paltry morsels) and point-blank refused a refund. I explained that our company 5000 Euro per month bookings with the chain will no longer take place. She said, “do what you like”. Not quite the response required, but she got her way and imposed the regulations. Great for one night.!

This hotel suited our needs perfectly. We were looking for somewhere to eat and sleep, close to the motorway on the long journey home and this ticked those boxes. Restaurant was very good with plenty of choice for vegetarians and the room was spotless. I was relieved we didn't have to go into Lyon for food and drink because it wasn't close. Big thumbs up to the sole guy serving in this very busy restaurant who was an absolute model of efficiency and couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. My French isn't great and he switched to English immediately when I struggled to explain something. Didn't get his name but top marks to him!!!!Breakfast also excellent. This is the 2nd time I have stayed in a Campanile in France and they are so much better than IBIS Budget, in my view.Car park was very full and we got the last space... Was really disappointed with the service on the main desk. Not sure that payment for the rooms was processed correctly. It was difficult to feel that we were valued as customers and I was hoping for a better level of service than the Premiere Classe!
