  stayed here for 2 nights. good location but average hotel.there is a kettle in the room but just for tea....very basic toilettery in the bathroomquite expensive average breakfast (18 euro)

  Wonderful hotel in Lyon

  Hôtel des Artistes, LyonSearching the perfect location for our stay in Lyon, we chose and made an advance reservation at Hôtel des Artistes, a wonderful, eco-friendly boutique hotel tucked away overlooking Les Célestins, Théâtre de Lyon and its accompanying Place des Célestins with trees. Retailers and underground parking are also nearby.Tomàs at the front desk was exceptionally welcoming upon our early arrival, as was Fatima later during our stay. Room 206, our “Act 3 Double Room with Twin Beds” (actually, two small double-sized beds!) was a very good size, quite comfortable, and updated with modern amenities and plenty of closet and shelving spaces. It’s a very nice bathroom with a walk-in shower. We had a lovely view over the Square with a Juliet balcony. The elevator accommodated our luggage easily. The buffet breakfast supplied by local producers, offered for an additional charge, was plentiful, and Christophe (?), our host, in the intimate dining room was very friendly.Short walks around the block took us to boulangeries, cafés and bouchons. We could also walk the easy block to the Saône River, cross the bridge, walk into and around Vieux Lyon and to the funicular to take us up to the Basilica Notre-Dame of Fourvière and the Théâtre Gallo Romain. Public transportation was a few blocks away with buses to the train station and to many surrounding neighborhoods as we traveled to visit the famed Lyon murals.Our stay at the Hôtel des Artistes in Lyon was perfect!

  Staff and location make this a good choice for a visit to Lyon. You are close to more than 50-60 restaurants and bars within 5-7 minute walk. Rooms are ok. AC works well. Bathrooms are a major issue - no place to put bar soap in the shower and water is impossible to not get all over the floor. Sink is so shallow the water splashes up into you. Toilet paper holder hits knees when taking care of business. The whole bathroom is not ergonomically friendly. Breakfast is marginal and not with the $17 Euro - small selections and very inefficient staff. The shining star is the great front desk staff. They are helpful, friendly and always a joy to interact with coming and going each day!

  Nice rooms and a beautiful terrace

  I stayed for a night at their budget rooms. Everything was great, room, showers and toilets clean, stylish terrace and a beautiful environment. The only thing is that that the rooms are not sound proof and I could hear people blow-drying their hair and the stuff cleaning in the morning. But an overall great experience and I would visit again.

  Great hotel in Lyon

  We stayed here in June 2025 for three nights. We reserved an “Acte III Double” room in this 3-star hotel. It was clean, comfortable, and a great location for walking to many great sights in Presqu’ile area as well as the Vieux Lyon area just across the bridges. This room type has more space than their other types, and we found it to have a decent amount of space. Our room was on the third floor (which is three floors above ground level) and looked directly at the Place des Celestins. There were events each night at the Place des Celestins, yet we found that any noise from those events was not an issue.We opted for the daily breakfast buffet on each of our three mornings. It was delicious and had a lot of options.If you need a place to park a car while staying at Hotel des Artists, the closest and most convenient place is the parking garage under the Place des Celestins. (The garage is not owned or operated by the hotel). The garage entrance is directly in front of the hotel front door. Note that it is expensive. We arrived on a Thursday afternoon and departed on a Sunday morning. The cost was €116.We highly recommend this hotel.
