    Less trend more service needed

    rating09 Aug 2025

This hotel is trying so hard to be trendy it forgets it's a hotel and so misses basic things. The check-in desk is just a table in the lobby with a laptop and one member of staff. The trendy comes from the decor, like the credit card machine disguised in an old phone. But with a single check in point, when there's ten people to check in it takes an age and the space means there's zero privacy when you're handing your personal details over. The rooms again go for trendy rather than comfort with no way to turn the strip light above the bed and bathroom off unless you remove your card, turning the air con off. Not ideal in 32 degrees. The breakfast was nice and beds comfortable. But I think a return to basics of good hotel service is needed. Nathalie Dupuy, General Manager at Greet Hotel Lyon Confluence, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and I would like to clarify a few points. We are indeed part of the greet brand, created in 2019, so still relatively recent. The greet concept is based on sustainable development, promoting short supply chains, recycling, and reusing. In the design of our reception area, as in most modern hotels, there is no longer a large traditional front desk like you might find in hotels with a longer history. We now have open reception areas to encourage a more direct and friendly interaction with our guests. We understand that this concept may not appeal to everyone, but we are very happy to work in these conditions. We have only one check-in point because we are a small hotel. Unfortunately, we experience waves of arrivals and cannot control the fact that several guests sometimes arrive at the same time—especially during the summer season, when many of our guests are families of four or five people. No sensitive personal information is requested verbally at reception. We also offer a welcome drink made from “second-life” fruits right behind our reception—did you happen to notice it?Regarding the room, the card placed in the holder at the entrance is only used to control the lights and is in no way connected to the rest of the electrical circuits in the room, let alone the air conditioning. To turn off the LEDs above the bed, there is a specific switch in the room, which is a dimmer—pressing it firmly will switch the lights off. Please do not hesitate to contact our reception team should you experience any difficulty in the room—they will be happy to assist you.I will refrain from commenting on your moral lessons regarding the fundamentals of hospitality.Kind regards,Front Office Manager

    Location iffy, but doable

    rating12 Jun 2025

The hotel is located right by the train station. That’s great, if your taking the train, not so great if you aren’t. Lots of shady looking characters around! The hotel itself is kind of beat up, with a small wonky elevator, but the room was fine. Typical hard European bed, but otherwise it was fine.Although the close by train station is a bother, you have to walk through it to get to the part of Lyon you come to see, although the walk gives you chance to see parts of the city you otherwise wouldn’t experience. Right next door is the historic and excellent restaurant, Brasserie Georges, which is a place you don’t want to miss. Make a reservation, otherwise you’re waiting in line with the rest of the tourists that didn’t plan ahead. The restaurant located at the base of the hotel, Mademoiselle Simone, is excellent, with live jazz to accompany your meal. Nathalie Dupuy, General Manager at Greet Hotel Lyon Confluence, responded to this review Hello dear guest, We want to thank you for taking the time to share your opinion and for giving us such a positive note after staying with us. You mentionned a lot of things that are out of our control so allow us to just focus on your comments on our live jazz restaurant and bar Mademoiselle Simone. We are particularily delighted to see that you enjoyed our dining in jazz experience as we have put lots of dedication into creating a real cozy classical jazz atmosphere. We do hope that you will visit us again and we stay at your disposition to help arrange your next stay if you come back to Lyon.Kindly,The great greet team

Treated accor diamond member like unworthy guess. Not recommended for benefits accor member!!!

    rating22 Feb 2025

This hotel is accor group but treated the diamond member like unworthy customer. First they didn't gave any welcome amenities upon arrival. When asked about weekend free breakfast for diamond members receptions said ok. In the morning when we want to take breakfast then the drama started. From the breakfast area they said our room not get any breakfast then need to back to reception. Finally they gave us breakfast. Breakfast was very very plain. Dont expect too much. They wrote local food. There is not hot meal breakfast. Only boiled egg bread ham. Then when check out I asked welcome amenities as member privileged and reception seems confused about it. I guess they don't know privileged for accor member. Then she asked the FOM which name is Baptiste Le Corre and he told me that this hotel not giving welcome amenities to accor member. They choose randomly for give it. What a strange system for accor member. Then he said for accor diamond there shouldn't get weekend free breakfast. I don't know either he cheated me or what. He said only mercure pullman etc give it. We'll I feel treated like not diamond member. Will not stay again here. Better choose ibis next to this hotel.

Could be better so be aware

    rating25 Oct 2024

Staff were very nice and welcoming. The room was ok. Very basic breakfast, they run out of food and we never got to the dining area late. Handy location to walk through the park and then into the city centre, where you can explore the high end shops and great food markets. Tram station 5 minute walk that can take you over to some of the sites and business area. Nathalie Dupuy, General Manager at Greet Hotel Lyon Confluence, responded to this review Dear guest, We want to thank you for taking your time to give us your opinion after staying at our greet hotel. We are very proud to see that the staff made you feel welcomed, be assured that we will share your appreciation with all of our team.Regarding your comment about the breakfast, have you tried asking for the staff working that day for the missing item ? Would you like to contact us to tell us more about your experience ? You can write to us at HB6G4@accor.com. We are very determined to propose a nice breakfast, with mainly homemade, fresh and local products, and we are sad that you found our selection "basic" and would love to hear more details about it.We sincerely hope that you will give us the chance to better serve you in the future, do not hesitate to contact us we will happy to exchange. Kind regards,The great greet team

    Ok on a budget.

    rating09 Jul 2024

We have just spent 4 nights at the Greet Hotel. The hotel is definitely at the budget end of the scale even though I wouldn't call the prices cheap. The staff are really nice, speak English, and are helpful. The bed was really comfortable. This saved it from getting even less stars. The bathroom is very tiny. The wash basin is not in the bathroom but in the bedroom. There is no rail to hang your hand towels so they end up getting wet when you balance them on the edge of the sink. The sink kept blocking. There is no safe or fridge in the room and the air conditioning was very weak. Even with it on full power all night on 15 degrees, the temperature in the room was still 23 degrees. Kettle and cups provided but no tea bags or coffee. Breakfast was ok. No croissants or pain au chocolat. Just bread and cheese and ham with some cereal options and some cake. Homemade stuff but would have been nice to get a pastry. We wouldn't stay there again unfortunately. Nathalie Dupuy, General Manager at Greet Hotel Lyon Confluence, responded to this review Hello,Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We appreciate your compliments on our staff and the comfort of our beds.We would like to inform you that our commitment to the environment plays a key role in some of our decisions. For example, we offer loose tea and coffee at reception rather than individual bags (we explain this on arrival) in the room to reduce plastic waste. In addition, we have chosen not to install fridges in the rooms for ecological reasons, and in keeping with our 3-star classification, we do not have in-room safes, but a safe is available at reception on request. We regret that the configuration of the bathroom was not to your liking and take your comments into account to improve our facilities. We will also review the operation of the air conditioning to ensure that it provides the necessary comfort for our guests. With regard to breakfast, we offer homemade products to promote freshness and quality. This excludes frozen products such as croissants and pain au chocolat. We hope that despite these points you have enjoyed your stay with us. Your feedback is invaluable and helps us to constantly improve our services.Kind regards,
