Convenient, Clean, and Ideal for a Business Stay in Lyon

    rating26 Nov 2025

I stayed at Mercure Lyon Centre Charpennes Parc De La Tête D'Or for a business trip and had a very positive experience. The hotel’s location is one of its biggest strengths—minutes from the metro and close to Parc de la Tête d'Or, making it easy to balance work with a bit of downtime. The atmosphere is welcoming, modern, and relaxed. My room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and comfortable, with all the essentials I needed for a productive stay. I felt the pricing offered good value considering the area and the overall quality.Service was excellent throughout my visit—professional, attentive, and efficient. Noise levels were low, allowing for easy rest after long work days. Amenities like the lobby bar, breakfast options, and reliable Wi-Fi added extra convenience.Overall, a great hotel choice for business travelers who appreciate cleanliness, comfort, and a convenient location.

    Budget Option

    rating17 Sept 2025

This was a reasonable hotel that was ok for the money, but had a few things working against it. Firstly, the location is a fair distance from the centre of Lyon and there aren’t a lot of good food options nearby. The room was reasonably modern, but the bathroom door did not close and the vanity plug did not retain water. There was no iron/board within the room and there were only a couple of English TV channels. Reception staff were friendly and helpful.A somewhat no frills accommodation option in Lyon for the budget conscious.

Very nice hotel with good service in a great location

    rating06 Nov 2024

Very good hotel in a great location just outside the city centre. We received a warm welcome for 2 nights stay at this hotel. The receptionist shared useful information to help us settle in.Our standard room on the first floor was a good size, clean, very comfortable and well decorated. There is tea & coffee making facilities in the room as well as a mini fridge. The location is quieter than being in the city centre and transport links - metro, trams & buses are a few metres from the hotel. A choice of shops, restaurants and bars in the area. It’s very quick and easy to get around. We would visit Lyon again and stay at this hotel.

From Basic to Brilliant: A Room Upgrade Worth the Ride

    rating14 Oct 2024

At first glance, the hotel might seem slightly removed from the center of Lyon, but it's actually very accessible via the nearby metro and tram stops, which are just steps from the hotel entrance. This convenient public transport connection allows you to reach the heart of Lyon in under 10 minutes, including the main train station. The surrounding neighborhood is more residential and business-oriented, offering a quieter, less touristy experience. However, you'll still find a good selection of local bars and restaurants, and the hotel itself has a restaurant that offers dining on-site.The lobby is small but inviting, with a modest seating area. While it's tastefully decorated, a touch more character or warmth could elevate the space and set it apart from typical business hotels. Service at reception was welcoming, though there was some initial confusion regarding my prepaid booking, which wasn’t immediately recognized. Additionally, no upgrade was offered despite my Accor status. However, after viewing the room I enquired whether an upgrade may be available and was promptly moved to a privilege room, which made a noticeable difference. While the hallway leading to the room felt a bit dated, the standard room itself, though small, was functional and comfortable. However, it lacked warmth and a distinctive charm. Upon moving to the privilege room, however, the experience transformed. The privilege room was beautifully designed, with modern, plush furnishings that exuded both style and comfort. The room featured a small entryway with a wardrobe, a Nespresso machine, a mini-fridge, and complimentary beverages. The bedroom had a spacious seating area opposite a large bed, separated by a small desk and vanity area. A large TV could be angled to face either the bed or the seating area. While the bathroom was well-equipped, it could have benefited from a rain shower to enhance the experience. The room was also equipped with ample electrical outlets and USB ports, along with various lighting options, adding to its convenience. I highly recommend opting for the privilege room—it truly elevated my stay and was well worth the additional cost, especially after comparing it to the standard room.

A good place for a short stay

    rating05 Aug 2024

This is a rather simple hotel but well located, correctly maintained and adequately equipped. Ll this is for a quite reasonable price. Our stay was better than expected indeed. Front desk was particularly welcoming. Wifi very good. A quite recommendable hotel.NB: As I'm fed up with being taken for a fool, I systematically deduct one point from the (many) places that don't keep their promise to save water by not changing the towels that are left hanging.
