    Great hotel

    rating29 Mar 2026

Next to train train so great location. Our room was a superior and was great, very large as was the bathroom and separate toilet, all spotlessly clean. Good nights sleep no noise at all. We had a meal in the restaurant that was first class plus breakfast all first class. Would stay again. Alain Mineo, General Manager at Mercure Lyon Centre - Gare Part Dieu, responded to this review Dear gavin123,Thank you for your wonderful feedback regarding your recent stay. First class location, second class decor

    rating29 Dec 2025

The Mercure Lyon Centre - Gare Part Dieu is exactly where you want to be if you’re arriving by train or planning onward travel. It sits literally beside Lyon’s Part‑Dieu station, right by the metro, tram stops and just a five‑minute walk from the Part‑Dieu shopping centre, one of Europe’s largest urban malls. This location makes it a strong pick for business travellers, city hopping or anyone seeking convenience above sightseeing charm. The welcome was warm and efficient, creating a good first impression. The is a nice seating area in the lobby which opens into the bar and restaurant. One hiccup: my Accor gift card couldn’t be processed easily at check‑in. It took several staff members attempting to apply it and they still ended up charging my credit card in full, requiring a refund. Not disastrous, but frustrating and unnecessary in a hotel of this calibre. My Executive Room on a high floor overlooked the train tracks, yet soundproofing worked well, there was no noise from departures or arrivals. The room felt spacious and comfortable, though the décor and furnishings leaned dated rather than stylish. The bathroom was well appointed, but the window lacked a blind, making privacy something you needed to handle creatively. There was a separate toilet room. The room came with everyone you would desire, with tea/coffee facilities and a fridge. A large screen TV was opposite the bed and a small couch offered a 2nd bed if required for families. Though the brown covering made it less appealing to use. Overall this is a functional hotel, but on the verge of feeling dated. Convenient

    rating04 Dec 2025

Easy walk from the train station. The staff were all so friendly. The hotel has two swift lifts.Unfortunately, our room smelled of cigar smoke, but we were too exhausted to change rooms. Hotels really need a better method of charging offenders and thoroughly cleaning smoke smell from rooms. The bed was comfortable enough and had nightstands on both sides. There were power outlets on each side of the bed--perfect for two people to charge devices at bedside. There was a mini fridge. The room was very quiet! The bathroom had a shower only. The water pressure was ____ and the hot water stayed hot. The wall-mounted magnifying mirror was a nice touch. The free Wi-Fi worked well. If I'm in lying and need a hotel within easy walk from the train station I'd be inclined to stay here again--but only in a non-smoky room. Alain Mineo, General Manager at Mercure Lyon Centre - Gare Part Dieu, responded to this review Dear RoadWrangler,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. We appreciate your understanding and hope to provide you a more pleasant experience in a non-smoking room during your next visit. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.Best regards,Hôtel Mercure Lyon Centre - Gare Part-Dieu

This is a fantastic location. The train is behind the hotel and easy to access. Thus travel to old city, major shops, the cathedral are easy on the credit card tap on system.Halle de Lyon offers a great place for lunch with numerous restaurants. It is a 15 min walk behind Westfield.Westfields is just through the railway station an entry behind the station and you go through and see it.Station has a great coffee and breakfast place Artic Juice and Cafe.Westfields in enormous and has a hard to fi d Desigual and 28 restaurants on the Les Table level. It also has a Carrefour supermarket.Room is massive with sept toilet and bathroom. A fridge, coffee and tea facilities. Beds comfortable and windows are double glacéd so minimal noise. Railway station noise drops off at 11pm but we didn’t notice noise. Station handy to connect to high speed trains to Paris etc. There is a small bar, reasonable food but eat out.Lots of interesting features like shoe cleaners and drink stations in the foyer. Loved the fish and lizards Alain Mineo, General Manager at Mercure Lyon Centre - Gare Part Dieu, responded to this review Dear Hugary1,Thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience at Hôtel Mercure Lyon Centre - Gare Part-Dieu. Perfect three nights stay

    rating20 Sept 2025

Our train originated from Brussels Midi and arrived at Gare Lyon Part Dieu in the late afternoon. The walk to the hotel took merely three minutes; the reception was welcoming and expeditiously done. Our executive suite located on the sixth floor is very spacious; separate toilet area, standing shower with separate tub. King size bed with very comfortable memory foam pillows. Double panes windows that is pretty much sound proof, which we had great rest throughout our stay. Breakfast area is very accommodating with nice seating, food is up to par. This hotel is really convenient for public transportation and plenty of taxi in front of the station as well. We were able to explore Lyon with ease and upon returning to our room, which house keeping really did a tremendous job during our stay. The immediate area is relatively safe, plenty of security and Police presence; hotel elevator required room card to gain access, which added another level of security. We still have another night in the wonderful hotel before heading to Paris and we are very happy with our decision to stay at this wonderful establishment.
