    Too expensive for what you get

    Relatively clean room but… heating working very badly and toilet flushing system not stopping. The constant noise of the water was annoying. I went to the reception and the girl came with me to do what I had done. Problem came back after she left. As I felt it was a lost cause, I opened up the top part of the contraption and switched it off myself. Water waste and noise, this must be known but not dealt with.Breakfast basic.I was just expecting something much better for 100euros. Especially located next to the motorway and in a really ugly area

    everything is damaged inside bathroom.when you say you need a quiet room, the hostess put you near romain prostitute's room and his mack, Shouting until 03:00 AM.The morning electrical shortcut in all the hostel : breakfast you paid is gone ! what the apologize about that : write to the consumer service and go to f..ck up ! awful experience near Lyon Frédéric Lagneau, General Manager at Kyriad Direct Lyon Sud - Chasse Sur Rhone, responded to this review Dear,I am very concerned regarding your stay.     We had choosen this hotel due tot vacation.The rooms are old and not from this time anymore. They can have a make over. The airco was not working very well and the badroom was old. Breakfast was okay die one nicht.

    I was travelling with my sister who’s a vegetarian and I’m a coeliac so we imposed upon this place with our food requirements. I ordered a sirloin steak with french beans and my sister ordered a vegetable lasagne. I requested my steak to be cooked medium rare as I don’t particularly like well cooked meat. Our meals turned up and I tried to cut into the steak which I could see was well done as there was no pink meat at all. The beans were cold and full of oil plus there was a salad with a dressing of unknown origin. It wasn’t what I had ordered at all. My sisters lasagne looked as though it had been sitting around all day as it looked burned and dark brown. When she took the top layer off, my sister found a load of what appeared to be dark coloured ransid looking mush! It certainly didn’t look appetising.On complaining to the staff, I said that I wasn’t going to pay for myy meal as I couldn’t eat it due to the suspect sauce on the salad and the fact that my steak was over cooked. We were still expected to pay for it all. I wouldn’t eat in this place if someone paid me for it. I always thought that the french people were excellent chefs and supposedly very proud of their food.Something else that I didn’t like was the ‘manager’ helping herself to food off the buffet as she walked past it.

    Having stayed at a number of different Campanile hotels in France over the past few years and three in the last week, this is quite the worst ever, in so many ways. The room was dated and in very poor condition, the bedlinen was so thin across the middle there were holes, the shower mat was filthy, the full length mirror was missing off the door (evidenced by the fixings still in the door!), the front door was rotten with the bottom corner missing and the light by clothes hanging space didn't work. As for the restaurant, where do I start... At check-in, around 3pm on a Saturday, we asked if we could reserve a table for dinner and were told it would not be necessary. We then asked if we could order some drinks from the bar (the hotel advertises having a bar). We were told, no, as there is only a Restaurant and lunch service had ended. We arrived at the restaurant at 7.05pm (having been told it opened at 7pm) to find people already eating and no table available for 10 minutes. We asked if we could have a drink while we waited. We were told yes and were directed to the 'Salon' - a room which, once we put the lights on, we could see was set up as a meeting room. There were a couple of small tables, at least one of which was broken, and some chairs available. This was not a nice place to be sitting and after quite a few minutes without the waitress coming to take our drinks order we returned to the restaurant area to await our table. Whilst waiting, two couples turned up and were seated straight away, while another couple were directed to the 'Salon' for 10 minutes...Meanwhile the only waitress on duty continued to ignore us. About 25 minutes after our arrival the waitress finally gave us the menus and we had to remind her for our drinks. We were eventually taken to our table with our menus for another 15 minutes before the waitress asked us for our order. When the food eventually arrived, it was very good, although the corner of my plate was broken quite badly, but luckily food was not in that area and I couldn't wait another half hour for a replacement! After eating our main course we waited around 15 minutes with empty plates and glasses on our table until eventually the waitress brought the meals for the diners on the next table when I managed to catch her attention before she walked off again, and asked her to remove the plates so we could have our desserts and also to bring us another drink. I had to remind her yet again for the drinks some time after we had eaten our dessertsWe would normally have had the 3-course meal, but the service was so bad we decided on only a dish of the day and dessert. We were not offered water or bread with our meal.All in all we were in the restaurant for over two hours to eat a main course, two small items from the dessert buffet and 3 small beers.It was unacceptable for the waitress to be on her own for the whole service, as well as attending reception, but that does not excuse her attitude which was arrogant, bordering on, dismissive with not a single apology offered. Other diners were equally uninpressed.I would not recommend this hotel or restaurant in any way at all. If this had been our first Campanile experience it would most certainly have been our last! As it is,we are at present staying at the Campanile in Troyes Sud which is at the opposite end of the spectrum - review to be added separately.
