Extremely poor service and lack of communication

    rating01 Jan 2025

I booked a three-night stay at Séjours & Affaires Lyon Saint-Nicolas (from December 29 to January 1) on November 12, 2024. The booking was for a private room with all amenities, including an en-suite bathroom. Given that this trip was for New Year’s celebrations, we planned it well in advance, prioritizing comfort and a good experience. Unfortunately, things went terribly wrong.Immediately after receiving my booking confirmation on November 12, I contacted the residence to inform them that we would arrive around 00:00–01:00 on December 30. The residence replied, stating that if we arrived after reception hours, they would prepare a self-check-in procedure. I responded the same day, requesting that they arrange this for us. However, I received no further communication. As our trip approached, I attempted to contact the residence multiple times via messages on the Booking.com app and email. My partner and I also tried calling the residence, but we received no response. By 22:00–23:00, just an hour before our scheduled arrival, we were forced to reach out to Booking.com for help. We were at serious risk of being stranded in an unfamiliar city at night in the middle of winter. It was far too late to search for alternative accommodations, as everything was either booked or unavailable. Thankfully, we managed to find an Airbnb at the outskirts of the city, where the host kindly waited for us until 2:00 a.m. due to the last-minute change caused by Séjours & Affaires Lyon Saint-Nicolas’s failure to honor our booking. The next day, we spent hours searching for accommodation for the remaining two nights. This left us unable to fully enjoy our trip and caused significant stress. We eventually found a small room just to get through the rest of our stay.I cannot comment on the cleanliness, comfort, or hospitality of Séjours & Affaires Lyon Saint-Nicolas because we never had the chance to check in. Due to the residence’s complete lack of organization and communication, our New Year’s trip turned into a nightmare.I strongly advise against booking with this residence.

Not bad, but could be better

I have stayed there for four months. The service was good, room was clean (cleaned once in two weeks), but there was no conditioning, and the internet was not so good, it is near to the Gare de Lyon-Part-Dieu (train station) and to the shopping center .

Nice apartment, a little out of the city centre

    rating23 Jun 2016

I stayed here with friends for 10 nights. We booked a 4 person apartment and to be honest it was a little small once the sofa bed in the living are was opened up. The apartment was clean, had excellent Wifi connection and 2 flat screen tvs. My only downside my stay was the mix up upon our arrival. I spoke with apartment manager on the day of arrival in France who gave me instructions for collecting my room key from the safe located outside reception however on arrival there was no key left for me in the safe. I called the apartment manager who arrived promptly and was able to get me a room key thankfully. The apartment was cleaned once during our stay and they done a fantastic job as we arent the tidiest!! There was a small kitchenette with 2 hot rings, microwave and sink. There was no kettle or toaster which would have been nice but not the end of the world. I would certainly stay here again however i would recommend you aim to arrive before reception closes (8pm i think) week days. Getting to the city centre and old town parts of lyon was very easy from these apartments, a short walk to Garibaldi metro stop then hop off at bellacour (city centre) or the next stop for old town which is a lovely part of lyon, lots of shops, restaurants, bars etc.I would stay at Sejours & Affaires again and would reccomend to others visiting lyon. Walking distance to Part Dieu train station was a big bonus!

    Internet?

    rating27 Oct 2015

I had to stay here 6 months for work.Position is objectively convenient to go to the station and receptionist are very nice.Apartments are quite anonymous yet functional, the real drama is there internet connection, ridiculously slow and unstable.Stating "no WiFi" would have been better from their website.Prices are definitely high, thus if you're visiting Lyon, I would suggest other solutions.

It's OK if you are a short-term student

    rating04 Oct 2015

Since this was for seven nights, we wanted a kitchenette for cooking. The good points: The place is clean, the staff is exceptionally polite and helpful (when they're there) because they leave at 9 pm and at 5 pm on Sat. and on Sundays, the front desk is closed. We also wanted a hotel that was close to the train station and in their online brochure, it says 300 meters which is false. It's a 20 minute walk instead The bathroom had many towels and small shampoo bottles. The shower head was connected directly to the faucet and nothing to hold it up on the wall to take a shower. The negatives: No telephone connection - No toaster - No coffee maker (had to ask for one) - No water kettle - No salt & Pepper - No dish soap - No hand soap and worst of all, no safety deposit box. Tips: Bring your own kitchen disposable bags and extra toilet paper for you only get one bag and two toilet paper rolls for one whole week. Towels and bed sheets were not changed for seven nights, the closet door was off the rail and had to fight to open it. This AppartHotel is situated at 90 Vivier Merle Blvd. and if you look at their brochure, there is no wide open desk like it shows. You may have breakfast in their small-type room on the ground floor for 8 euros (13.60 CDN)The room cost us $125. CDN per night. Would we go back to this place again? NOPE!
