Thank you Dimitri for being so friendly!

    rating04 Aug 2025

Very nice hotel in a lovely town. The room was really nice, the whole thing is lovely. But the best part was the breakfast and more specifically the service quality and friendliness of Dimitri! Despite us being late for the buffet and most things being put away, he ended up making us personalized plates so that we could enjoy everything available in the buffet. We ended up having the best time!

Basic reliable accommodation as a stop on a journey

    rating19 May 2023

This hotel is a former coaching inn and presents good value for money, but basic accommodation. Judging by the wear in the stone steps leading up to the bedrooms it has been frequented by many generations of traveller over a long time. The accommodation is clean and reasonably comfortable. Our room was on the second floor, and there isn’t a lift so you have to be prepared to haul your suitcases up four flights of stairs. We had requested a twin room, and when we opened the door it wasn’t set up this way, so we had the decision - do we haul all our bags downstairs again or what - we decided that one of us should sit tight with the bags whilst the other chased down a twin room. As it happened the room next door had two beds in it, so the baggage hauling wasn’t needed. The room was clean but very dark, and a shutter from and adjacent window blew open in the breeze and obscured our one small window making darker still. The two beds turned out to be a double, with a single lying across the bottom of it at 90 degrees, but nestled under a 45 degree roof beam, which meant that if you sat up too quickly you banged your head. Those beams have been holding the roof for centuries so it’s more than likely your head will come off the worst in any unplanned collision. In our case this was a place to stay on a driving tour. For one night it provided a good night’s sleep, and the cars were parked in a secure courtyard off the street. It’s ancient role as a coaching is preserved as a good place to stop on the way to somewhere else.I’d certainly recommend it as a waypoint but not for a longer stay.

A superb hotel and restaurant in every way.

    rating27 Oct 2022

A super family-run, long established hotel and fine-dining restaurant with lovely and always very professional staff throughout. For dinner we had scallop and prawn cassolette followed by a perfect veal dish and sturgeon (a new and very rewarding experience for me) with excellent local (Beaujolais) red, white and rosé wines; finished with crème caramel and pears in rum desserts - all absolutely delicious and memorable. Accommodation was comfortable, clean and well maintained and made a perfect convenient stop for us driving through France but would equally be a good base to explore the area.

    Nice rooms and great good

    rating20 Nov 2021

I was 5 nights in the renovated floor, the room is not luxurious but is as expected for this level of accommodation. The breakfast and dinner were fabulous and were the best part of the we stay. I would happily come back.

Don’t dither just reserve a room. We could easily have continued driving and ignored this gem. The hotel interior is modern and fitting the style of the hotel. Rooms are minimalist but very good. Fantastic shower. So clean and well decorated.Restaurant is awesome with excellent food. The staff are so friendly and helpful. I do not hesitate to recommend this hotel. Car park is excellent.Book it now and enjoy a great night accommodation. Hope this review helps you.
