    Huge disappointment!

    I thought Hilton would be a safe place of to stay in Marseille. It is a huge disappointment that the brand new raffia handwoven beach bag I purchased from Gordes village went missing from my room. I never in a million years would have thought that I should lock every new item I purchased during my stay at my Hilton room! The immense disappointment I am feeling about this stay is unmeasurable. We were planning to come back with my girls to the area, Hilton is not an option anymore. I should have checked this page before booking. If Hilton is not safe, no where is safe, be ware. Thank God my husband insisted we locked the Longchamp bags in our suitcase. He even said we should also lock the raffia bag as well and I said "Do not exaggerate, this place is Hilton, nothing would happen in the room!!" Also because the raffia bag was thicker than the Longchamps (they can be folded you know and take up very little space) I did not want to put it on my clothes and we placed the raffia bag on the top shelf of the metal/see-through closet :( To the person who got my bag, you made me sad, I hope it does not bring any good to you. They do not care for sure, there was finally an answer from the hotel management many days later after I wrote to Hilton international but I hope whoever took this lightly, regrets one day.

    Poor service throughout and well below Hilton standards

    We stayed at the Hilton Marseille Airport and unfortunately had a really poor experience from start to finish.We arrived at around 3:15pm, just after the advertised 3pm check-in time. Our room was ready, but the room for the family we were travelling with was not, and they ended up waiting around an hour and a half with two small children. That was far from ideal after travelling, especially given check-in was advertised from 3pm.Once we got to our room, the TV wasn’t working, so we had to call reception and wait for someone to come and fix it. Later, we tried to use the swimming pool, but the doors were locked or broken, and it took ages for someone to come and sort that out too.The restaurant experience was particularly disappointing. We walked in and stood waiting while staff were talking at the bar, but no one came over to greet or seat us, so we eventually sat ourselves down. A staff member then told us food would not be served for another 15 minutes, which was fine, but it would have been helpful to tell guests that on arrival.Service during the meal was poor throughout. I ordered a beer which never arrived. We asked for the food to come at the same time, but the starters came first and then one of the pasta mains was forgotten entirely. No one came to check on us, so we had no way to raise it until we eventually managed to catch someone’s attention around 25 minutes later. I said not to worry if it had not been started, but it appeared about five minutes later. Unfortunately, it was bland and unseasoned.The children’s desserts were also handled badly. We tried to order three kids’ ice creams, but the waiter walked off halfway through us explaining what they wanted. He came back with just two, both wrong, and then seemed confused that we wanted three, despite us having ordered three children’s meals. The third eventually arrived.For a meal costing around €180, this was possibly the worst service I have received in a hotel restaurant, and the food was mediocre at best. Given the Hilton name, I expected much better. Based on this experience, I would not stay here again.

    We only booked a 1 night stay to facilitate an early morning flight home the following day, and wanted something close to the airport.We’re Hhonors Diamond members so have experienced a lot of Hilton Garden Inn’s, so our expectations were set fairly low for a comfortable overnight stay.When we arrived to a very smart downstairs reception area we were quite surprised how nice the hotel is - it is a lot nicer than some standard Hilton hotels.Rooms were clean, comfortable and nicely furnished, and the outside pool made for a refreshing dip.The breakfast was one of the best selectioned breakfasts, with something for everyone - hot, cold, pastries, fresh fruit etc.All in all, highly recommend a stay here!

    Firstly to say that the staff were all lovely. Not their fault, but the hotel does not have air conditioning in April. Fine. But the windows don’t open. Was boiling

    Really great service from the shuttle drivers, and the reception team were just as lovely. Everyone always had a smile on their faces..We will return !
